The Mandate Movement (TMM), Igbogbo/Bayeku Local Council Development Area (LCDA) of Ikorodu Division, Lagos State, Southwest, Nigeria, has affirmed that it is the turn of the Justice Forum (JF) to produce the next Chairman of the council.
The group stated that the current council boss, Builder Sesan Daini, who is a chieftain of the TMM, will be completing his two terms of eight years in the next few weeks, and added that he became the council chairman through the rotational arrangement between the two groups.

In a statement signed by Hon. Oluyemisi Odusoga, Coordinator, The Mandate Movement (TMM) , Igbogbo/Bayeku LCDA, the political group raised five points emphasizing that JF should be allowed to pick his candidate as the next candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
“Permit me to make some clarifications regarding the dubious mischaracterization and public misinformation on the next Igbogbo/Baiyeku LCDA Chairmanship election.

“In our great ruling party, the All Progressives Congress (APC), political concerns from the federal, state, or local levels, such as the distribution of LGA/LCDA party executive positions, are shared between the Justice Forum (JF), led by Asiwaju Olorunfumi Basorun, GAC Member, and The Mandate Movement (TMM), led by Sen. Otunba Kingsley Adeseye Ogunlewe, GAC Member.
“This system has been in place for a while and most past governments were installed through the same process. This arrangement ensures orderliness, cohesion, and loyalty within the party system”, he said.

While establishing that the incumbent chairman of the council is a member of TMM, Odusoga raised some points to further emphasize that the JF should be allowed to produce the next candidate of the APC in the forthcoming council elections.
“We, the TMM leaders, understand that the incumbent Chairman of Igbogbo/Baiyeku LCDA, Bldr Olusesan Mayokun Daini, who is about to complete his two-term tenure, is a TMM member and was installed through the same arrangement. We also acknowledge that the next Chairman should be presented and produced by the JF.
He added:
“No imposition: We should not allow individuals or groups to dictate or force aspirants on the JF.

“Support for JF Aspirants: Our stand is to support aspirants presented by the JF under Asiwaju Olorunfumi Basorun’s leadership.
“TMM Members: Any TMM member interested in contesting the Chairmanship position should approach the JF instead of causing disunity within the party.
“No Dictation: TMM members should not attempt to dictate to the JF on which aspirants to present.
“Satisfaction with JF Aspirants: We should be satisfied with JF’s confirmed party members who have contributed to the party’s success.

“Let’s avoid cancerous behaviors within our party. Any attempt to force rejected aspirants on the TMM will be rejected and meet colossal failure.”
Meanwhile, JF has identified Hameed Olalekan Aroyewun, Hon. Gbenga Oshin, Hon. David Alagbe, Hon. M.K.O. Arowolo and Hon. Nureni Okemaja, as Chairmanship aspirants on its platform going by the shadow primary conducted some weeks ago.
