Ikorodu North LCDA Follows Suit, Calls Chairmanship Aspirants For Interaction Wednesday

The leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ikorodu North Local Council Development Area (LCDA), has also invited the Chairmanship aspirants in the council for the forthcoming council elections, for an interactive session.

The aspirants are expected to meet the party leaders at the APC Party Secretariat situated at Prince Abiodun Ogunleye Avenue, Alaka Petrol Station, Sabo, Ikorodu, tomorrow, Wednesday 26th of March, 2025.

Members of the screening panel for Ikorodu North LCDA’s Chairmanship aspirants are Mrs Toyin Salau, former APC Chairman in the council, Alhaji Ogidi among others.

THE IMPACT gathered that the aspirants may face the screening panel constituted by the leadership of the party at the interactive session, because they have been asked to bring along some documents – NIN, APC Membership card, PVC, Letter of Intent to contest for the office of the Local Govt Chairman, Profile/ CV and Program/Action plan.

It was also reliably gathered that the aspirants were asked to bring along any other documents that they deemed relevant to be useful for consideration for the position they are aspiring for .

Among the chairmanship aspirants expected at the interactive session are Hon.Olasunkanmi Tijani, Divisional APC Chairman, Hon. Kunle Ogunbela, the first Executive Chairman of the Council, Hon. Ola Ameen Apanisile, current Vice Chairman, Ikorodu North LG, Hon. Matthew Adesanya, a serving Supervisor and former Secretary to the Council, Mr Odugbesi, the current Secretary to the council, and Mrs Shukura Adewunmi – Okeowo, former Executive Secretary, Ikorodu North LCDA.

Others are Mr Taiwo Odumbo, Principal, LASU International School, Mr Sesan Odueyigbo, former Supervisor, Ikorodu North LCDA, Prince Adedoyin Ogunbiyi Jokotex, a Health professional and community development advocate, Dr Samson Bisiriyu, a community mobiliser and youth developer, and Hon. Bashiru Ismaheel Olaniyi (BIO-DANGOTEY) among others.

Just like in Ikorodu Central and Igbogbo/Bayeku LCDAs where the issue of rotational chairmanship is playing out, the Justice Forum (JF) in Ikorodu North LCDA is saying that it is the turn of the group.

THE IMPACT gathered that since the inception of the council, JF has not been opportuned to be at the helms of affairs of Ikorodu North LCDA.

Recall that the leader of the APC in Ikorodu Local Government (Ikorodu Central), conducted screening for about 25 aspirants that are vying for the Chairmanship position of the council, between Wednesday and Saturday last week.

THE IMPACT has also reported earlier that the APC leadership in Igbogbo/Bayeku LCDA, has also constituted a screening panel and has also invited aspirants to appeared before it on Wednesday.

Ikorodu West, Ijede and Imota LCDAs are also expected to follow – suit in the coming days.
