-Ranodu of Imota performs ground breaking

Two years after the commissioning of the state – of – the – art 80 – bed Mother & Child Hospital in Imota Local Council Development Area (LCDA), which was facilitated by Rep. Babajimi Benson, the representative of Ikorodu Federal Constituency, he has also started off its expansion by facilitating the construction of a Diagnostics Centre to complement it.
The ground breaking ceremony was performed by the Ranodu of Imota, His Royal Majesty, Oba (Dr.) Ajibade Bakare Agoro, FCA, on Wednesday.
The centre when completed will have a Doctor’s Cabin, Sonography, Report Collection Desk, Report Area, Common Room, Ultrasound, MRO Scan Room, Scan Observation Room, Pathology & Microbiology Lab, Chemical Lab, Waiting Area and Toilet.

Rep. Benson was represented at the ceremony by the newly appointed member of the Lagos State Civil Service Commission, Alhaji Fatia Lasisi, expressing his appreciation for the support from the Ranodu and residents of Imota.
He said that he was assured that the Diagnostics Centre would be completed and commissioned before the end of 2025.
According to the representative, Rep. Benson also assured that the ongoing ICT centre and other projects would also be completed and commissioned this year and new projects would be embarked upon.

Prince Wasiu Kunle Agoro, the Executive Chairman of Imota LCDA, commended the lawmaker for the initiative stating that the council is gaining back in terms of development what has eluded her for years.
“This is just the beginning of better things to come to Imota, and we are pleased that these are happening during our time.
“I am grateful that all these developments are happening during my time as the chairman of Imota LCDA. These are the things we never had the opportunity of having for many years, but it is happening now and God will continue to use those that He is using like Hon. Babajimi Benson, to further the developments. He has been doing it, and other things are still coming from him.

“We are talking about the diagnostic centre today, but I know an ambulance is coming very soon. There are other things we have discussed but which I will not disclose here,” Hon. Agoro informed.
In her own remarks, Dr. Adenike Omosun, Medical Director/Chief Medical Officer, General Hospital Imota, commended Rep. Benson and the Ranodu of Imota for the expansion of the MCC and also unveiled other projects in the pipeline.
“We know what it was when we started with the MCC and how it has been expanded. We have an eye centre, we are getting another OPD, and an emergency centre. Very soon we are going to have our dental, physiotherapy and the people of Imota don’t need to go far because they will have everything in this place.

“I want to specifically say thanks to Honourable Jimi Benson. I remember the first time we visited him with a few of our team, and we told him about the progress of Imota, he was so excited and we told him that we need a diagnosis centre and he said, ‘consider it done.’
“We also told him that we needed an ambulance, again, he assured us to consider it done and we are so overwhelmed by the warm reception and I am sure that this is because of his love for the Imota community and we want to say a very big thank you,” she added.

In his royal address, Oba Ajibade Agoro, the Ranodu of Imota, while describing the day as another joyous one for Imota, expressed his appreciation for the rapid developments in Imota especially regarding the hospital which the community has been pursuing since 1979.
“We are particularly grateful for this kind of development at Imota. This is a remarkable feat that we are celebrating today.
“Today is a very happy and joyous occasion for us, that we are doing the ground breaking of the diagnosis centre, that the federal government has brought here through Rep. Benson, to complement the main facility.

“I am grateful because this place has been emerging to an extent that is more than our expectations. Somebody has donated an orthopedic wing for the hospital, and I am sure that in another five years’ time, this place will turn into a teaching hospital,” the royal father said.
Oba Ranodu who who will be 32 years on the throne of his ancestors, also commended Rep. Benson for the ongoing ICT centre.
Among other guests at the ceremony were Col. (Dr.) Titi Onafowokan, (Rtd.), Chief olumuyiwa Adebogun , Olisa of Imota, Princess Abisoye Adebogun, Supervisor WAPA, Imota LCDA.
