The representative of Ikorodu Constituency II, Hon. Aro Moshood Abiodun (AMA) on Wednesday caused uproar when he publicly prostrated for the Governor of Lagos State, Mr Babajide Sanwo -Olu over the completion of the Igbogbo/Bola Ahmed Tinubu/Igbe and the Ijede Roads in Ikorodu Division.

He did not get back on his feet until the governor assured him that his requests are granted and asked him to get up.

The first term lawmaker, who has been delivering quality representation in the last two years, has been in the forefront of ensuring the completion of the Igbogbo road which has been under construction for about eight years, while the first phase of the Ijede road from Itamaga to Gbodu Junction was completed about three years ago.

Aro, council chairman, political leaders and traditional rulers in Ikorodu especially the Adeboruwa of Igbogbo, have been at the receiving end of the blames for the failure of the state government in completing the Igbogbo/Bola Tinubu/Igbe Road, a situation which has adversely affected social and economic lives of the people.

“The Bola Ahmed Tinubu Road, my God! That has been on for a long time. Mr Governor, please assist us in completing it,” Hon. Aro said prostrating and calling on the Chairman, Igbogbo/Bayeku LCDA, Builder Sesan Daini to join him.

The entire commissioning environment turned into uncontrollable but appreciative laughter and also echoed his plea to the Governor.

“We are grateful for the construction of blocks of classrooms at Lajo Junior Secondary School, Reri Junior Secondary School, Offin/Oreta and Luwasa Secondary Schools.

“We thank you for all you do, Mr Governor.”

Speaking on the commencement of the Ijede Road’s second phase, Hon. Aro said:

“Mr Governor, for the commencement of the Ijede second phase, Arab contractors said that they just needed an award letter to retain their construction equipment here. Without that, they will remove them.

“Mr Governor, please, help issue the company an award letter to prevent the removal of their equipment.

“I trust you because I know that you are Mr Talk and Do. Just wave and say ‘O ti lo’ (slang for it is done’), Hon. Aro diplomatically directed the governor with the audience bursting into another round of prolonged laughter”, he said.

He also called the Chairman, Ijede Local Council Development Council Area(LCDA) l, Hon. Motuntayo Gbadebo -Alogba to join him in begging the governor.

“In addition, I want to appreciate you as a listening governor. You always pick your calls whenever we called you and respond to text messages.”

He congratulated the students and staff of Keme Balogun Secondary School and the community for the modern school structure and other facilities provided by the Governor’s administration.

In granting approval, Governor Sanwo -Olu said the procurement for Ijede Road would be out in two weeks.

He gave directive that all that is required for the procurement to be ready should be done.

The governor also assured the people of Igbogbo/Baiyeku LCDA that the Igbogbo/Bola Ahmed Tinubu Road/Igbe Road would be completed soon to address the challenge of moving with ease in the area and bring about economic and social development.
