The Advertising Regulatory Council of Nigeria (ARCON), has granted the Mass Communication Department, Lagos State University of Science and Technology (LASUSTECH), full accreditation to produce advertising graduates in Nigeria.
This accreditation is valid for five years, expiring in January 2030.
The ARCON approval was contained in a letter dated March 4, 2025, directed to the Vice Chancellor, LAUSTECH.
In the said letter, the advertising regulatory body emphasizing the effects of the approval, said:

“The implication of this accreditation is that holders of your Bachelor of Science in Mass Communication are eligible for registration as Associates, registered practitioners in Advertising (arpa) and to practise the profession of advertising as provided by Act number 23 of 2022″, ARCON stated.
In a statement today announcing the attainment, the Dean, College of Applied Social Sciences, Professor Muyiwa Olamade, congratulated the department for the feat while thanking institution’s Vice Chancellor for his support.

“The College extends heartfelt congratulations to the Department of Mass Communication and expresses its gratitude to the Vice-Chancellor for meeting our accreditation requirements, leading to this significant achievement.
“As we await the results for the Banking and Finance professional accreditation, we remain optimistic that it will bring more good news from the College to the university community.
“Congratulations to LASUSTECH, congratulations to CASS, and congratulations to the Mass Communication Department!” he said.
It may be recalled that the professional body conducted an accreditation exercise in the department in January 2025.
