Another edition of the Rotinwa – Aka Family’s Ramadan Lecture which took place at the weekend witnessed a large turnout of family chieftains, Islamic clerics, friends and others.
This year’s lecture which made it 23 years since it started in 2002 was held at the family house at Oke Ota – Ona, opposite L.I.F.E Bible College, Grammar School Area, Ikorodu, on Saturday.
Fadeelat Sheikh Abdul Wasiu Adio Bawallah, the guest lecturer spoke on the topic – ‘Aquibah’, which he interpreted as the end when men will have to answer for all their deeds.

The lecturer congratulating the family chieftains for sustaining the tradition of propagating Islam which he said they inherited from their parents, charged others to emulate such a good path.
Emphasizing on the issues in the topic, Alhaji Bawallah said that end must come to everything in life and that everyone must return to God to account for their deeds.
He charged Rotinwa family members and others at the lecture to always appraise their attitudes and endure correction when necessary because the end time may come at any time.

The guest lecturer stated that this period is characterized by fear due to negative happenings like ritual killings, kidnappings, economic challenges because many do not bother about the end time anymore but what they want to be.
Bawallah said that anyone that cares about his after life should start impacting knowledge on others, obey God’s commandments and do good at all times among others.
Former Head of Service, Lagos State and a chieftain of the family, Bashorun Babatunde Rotinwa, in his brief speech said that the lecture and other ways of propagation of Islam by the family were paths laid down to them by their parents which they have been able to sustain.

He called on young family members to look at the need for them to also sustain the path for the generation after them and those yet to come.
About 100 guest that attended the Ramadan lecture were provided with food packs to break their fasting.
Other family chieftains and guests at the event were Alhaji Yusuf Kolawole Rotinwa, Alhaji Musibau Ola Rotinwa, Alhaja Shonoiki Mulikat, Alhaja Adeola Rotinwa, Alhaja Kudirat Rotinwa, Alhaja Risikat Rotinwa, Alhaja Zinat Rotinwa, Mr Raheem Rotinwa, Mr Rahmon Rotinwa, Prof. Hakeem Amuda (UNILAG) and Mr Ismail Ogunfodunrin among others.
