The Sultan of Sokoto, Sultan Sa’ad Abubakar III, has declared Saturday, 1st of March, 2025, as the commencement of the Holy Month of Ramadan.
He said the declaration was based on the sighting of the moon in almost every part of the country earlier on Friday which is the 29th day of the Month of Shaban and thereby signifies Saturday as the first day of Ramadan 1446.
The Muslim leade said the widespread reports of the moon sightings from various regions of the country were verified and accepted, confirming the commencement of Ramadan 1446.
