Monday the 23rd of February marked a significant milestone in the ongoing efforts to improve infrastructure and address flooding challenges in Ijede LCDA, as Rep. Babajimi Benson, the lawmaker representing Ikorodu Federal Constituency, flagged off the construction of a major drainage and channelisation project along Nurudeen Adeshola Street, Abule Eko Road in Ijede.
The project is aimed at enhancing flood management, improve road durability, and provide lasting relief to residents of Ile-Omi and Abule-Eko communities. The 317-meter-long drainage system is expected to address the persistent flooding that has plagued the area, and significantly improve the quality of life for residents.

Hon. Femi Kabir, Vice Chairman of Ijede LCDA, represented the council chairman, Hon. Motunrayo Gbadebo – Alogba, at the flag-off ceremony.
He expressed deep appreciation for Rep. Benson’s commitment to infrastructure development and his dedication to improving the lives of his constituents.
Hon. Kabir emphasized that this project would provide a sustainable solution to the flooding challenges faced by the community.

Mrs. Kehinde Fesomu, Chairman of the Community Development Committee (CDC) in Ijede LCDA, also thanked Rep. Babajimi Benson for his intervention. She urged residents to cooperate with the contractors to ensure the timely and successful completion of the project.
