The representative of Ikorodu Federal Constituency, Rep. Babajimi Adegoke Benson, has described his re – election for the third term, two years ago and also the election of other 359 members of the House of Representatives as pivotal in the history of the country.
Today makes it two years that the 360 members of the House were elected and re – elected as legislators of the 10th National Assembly.
In a statement in commemoration of the anniversary, Rep. Benson said that he is still overwhelmed by the massive support received by him and other APC candidates including President Bola Tinubu from the electorate.
It must be noted that the three term lawmaker recorded the highest number of votes amongst his colleagues in the House of Representatives and also, the electorate of the Ikorodu Federal Constituency, delivered the highest votes for President Bola Tinubu in the 2023 general elections.
“Today, we commemorate a pivotal moment in history – February 25, 2023, when the people of Nigeria exercised their democratic rights and elected us across the 360 federal constituencies to represent them in the 10th National Assembly.
I am still in awe of the overwhelming support we received from the residents of Ikorodu Federal Constituency, who trooped out en mass to cast their votes for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, myself, and the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ikorodu Division.
It is a remarkable achievement that Ikorodu Division gave the ruling party, APC, the largest number of votes in the entire federation. I take this opportunity to express my deepest gratitude to the residents, CDC, CDAs, party stakeholders, and loyalists for their unwavering support, unyielding cooperation, and unflinching care throughout our journey so far.
As members of the 10th Assembly, we are committed to rolling up our sleeves to make impactful legislation, representation, and oversight towards actualising the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
