The much – expected kick- off of the annual pre – JAMB training being organized by Musediq Alogba E – Library & Research Centre, took place at the weekend with about 30 students in attendance.

Alogba library which is located within the Ikorodu Town Hall, is an arm of the Ikorodu Division Resource Development Committee (IDRDG), just like the Ikorodu Town Hall CBT, which is an accredited centre for JAMB and WAEC examinations.

According to one of the coordinators of the training, Treasures Olawunmi Bayode, a test run was conducted at the facility last week to ascertain the level of preparedness before the eventual take off at the weekend.

He also stated that students are expected in their large number next weekend adding that necessary student’s union bodies, youth groups and free JAMB form donors have been contacted to inform their members and beneficiaries to take advantage of the free training.

Prince Rotimi Ogunleye, Chairman, Musediq Alogba E – Library & Research Centre, the body that conceptualised and midwifed the creation of the CBT centre, said that the purpose of the training is to further the objectives of the IDRDG and give candidates adequate time on computers to practice the JAMB questions.

“The purpose of the training is to make them confident sitting behind the systems during their CBT examination and not be scared of the lettering on the keyboard.

“By then, they will have sufficiently gained knowledge on how to handle keyboard, mouse and the screen. All these will not be strange or scare them, and with that confidence, they will be able to apply their brains and answer the questions correctly and from what we did last year, the results showed that the training really made impacts because they had better results than when there was no prior training to the JAMB examinations, and the facilities that we have in the town now were not there.

“The library committee is prepared and we are good to go,” Prince Ogunleye said.

Pre – JAMB training holds between 10am and 4pm on Fridays and 10am and 2pm on Saturdays at the BB Musediq Alogba E – Library & Research Centre.
