Samson Bisiriyu Joins Race For Ikorodu North LCDA Chairmanship

A community builder and youth advocate, Dr.(Hon.) Samson Bisiriyu has officially made his intent public to aspire for the chairmanship position in the Ikorodu North Local Council Development Area (LCDA) in the forthcoming LG elections.

Bisiriyu, a former aspirant for the Ikorodu Constituency I, Lagos State House of Assembly, submitted his letter of intent to the leaders and executives of Ikorodu North LGA chapter of All Progressives Congress (APC), the platform on which he intends to fly his flag.

He said that he has decided to consolidate on his progressive and developmental strides with his declaration as an award-winning community and youth developer in Ikorodu Division after wide consultations.

He stated he has done everything humanly possible to support the youthful populace in his community; the chairmanship aspirant pledged to put Ikorodu North LCDA first if given the mandate.

The aspirant also promised to pursue the THEMES Plus Agenda of the Governor of Lagos State, Mr Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu at the grassroots level.

“My blueprint will be that of the Governor of Lagos State, His Excellency, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu which is centered on health, education, agriculture and human capital development.

“As you all already know that the APC led government at the state under our Sellable Governor and at the federal level led by President Bola Tinubu, attach great importance to youth development, this will also be sustained in our own government at the grassroots level. The Youth will always come first,” he said.

Dr. Samson is the founder of the most vibrant youth organization in Ikorodu, Ikorodu Division Youth Initiative (I.D.Y.I), he is also a member of the Ikorodu Division Human Resource Development Board (IDHRDG) and Ikorodu Division Youth Initiative Board (IDYIB).

He is a member of the prestigious School Of Politics, Policy & Governance Alumni Governing Board (SPPGAA)

Dr Samson, who was awarded Doctor of Philosophy Ph.D (Honoris Causa) in Public Administration at Ultimate University of Science and Technology, Porto Novo, Benin Republic has Masters in Public Administration (MPA), Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, Ogbomoso, Oyo State, Higher National Diploma (HND) in Public Administration from The Polytechnic, Ibadan, Oyo state. Nigeria and Ordinary National Diploma (OND) in Business Studies, also from The Polytechnic, Ibadan, Oyo State, Nigeria.

He has Professional Certificate in Leadership & Decision Making. Nexford University Washington DC. U.S.A and Professional Certificate in Public Leadership and Policy (CPLP). School of Politics, Policy & Governance (SPPG). Abuja. Nigeria.

In his mobilization efforts, Bisiriyu initiated the Igbega-Eko (Students Educational Support Program) and Igbega-Ilera ( Health Outreach Support Program) in support of the Governor Sanwo-Olu’s THEMES+ Agenda.

He was the Lead Convener of First Ikorodu Division Security Summit with support of NBA Ikorodu Branch and Ikorodu Division Stakeholders in restoring peace and sanity in Ikorodu Division.

Dr Bisiriyu was one of the facilitators of newly constructed 4.3Km Lucky Fibres – Odogunyan Link Road, a Federal Constituency Project facilitated by Hon. Babajimi Benson as a compensation for the delivery of winning votes for all the APC candidates in the last general elections in Dr Bisiriyu’s ward/polling unit.

He is the Ikorodu Division Project Officer for BudgIT Nigeria which is in partnership with UK Support Program on Local Government Accountability.

Politically, Dr Bisiriyu served as Ikorodu Division Coordinator for the Babajimi Olusola Sanwo-Olu Young Professional Support Group (BOSYOPS).

He is also the Coordinator for House of Assembly Aspirants in Ikorodu Division (LAHAA) 2023 General Elections.

According to Bisiriyu, as a youth developer, he facilitated employment of over 100 youths into Lagos State Service, agencies and private companies in the state and outside the shores of Nigeria.

He also facilitated the involvement of over 250 youths in Ikorodu Division in Agriculture and Skills Acquisition Programmes by the state government.
