QS. Abdulazeez Adekunle Awesu continued with his philanthropic gestures on Thursday when he launched a free JAMB initiative as part of his agenda to support educational development in Ikorodu and give hope to indigent students that are unable to pay for the examination.

The initiative which is being organized by his foundation, Awesu Dynasty Foundation (ADF) and is intended to give out 400 free JAMB forms, is the maiden edition.

The young and progress driven Awesu is aspiring for the Chairmanship position in Ikorodu Local Government in the forthcoming 2025 Local Government elections.

To make the entire process seamless for the students, the donor is not just giving out free JAMB forms, at the Adeniran Ogunsanya venue of the presentation, but also partnering with a CBT centre to register students.

According to the Director of programme, Mr Kehinde Jackson, about 200 candidates have been successfully registered within the first two days of the four days exercise.

Speaking with THE IMPACT, Jackson said:

“We are here for the presentation of free JAMB forms to students. This is the first edition under Awesu Dynasty Foundation, an initiative of the famous Kunle Awesu. We are offering JAMB forms for indigent Ikorodu residents and that is why we are here for the screenings.

Registration of candidates

“We are targeting four hundred students, but today being the first day (Thursday), we have about two hundred so far who have gotten their forms.

“”This program is limited to four days, and we are partnering with a CBT center, which is assisting us with the uploading in compliance with the JAMB policy.”

While charging beneficiaries to take good advantage of the opportunity, the Director of Awesu Dynasty Foundation also enjoined them to be of good character and aim for the best.

“I will also encourage them to strive for excellence. They should keep up their spirits which they have displayed here.

“I charge them to read and prepare very well to get good scores in JAMB which will qualify them for enrolment into universities. From there, they can be anything that they want in future”, he said.

Jackson described Awesu as a man committed to philanthropic gesture and who desires good governance and a better society for all.

“Awesu has always been a philanthropist. He is a very soft person who wants good governance and better society for everyone to live in. He wants an inclusive government and a system that serves everybody and not just a few as we are experiencing.

“His personality is a factor that is working smoothly for him. The general slogan around Ikorodu Federal Constituency now is, “With Awesu, a new Ikorodu is possible and it is the time for the youths”.

“He wants effectiveness concerning our road, agriculture, infrastructure, rural development, education, security health and systems. He also wants a government with human face and humanitarian disposition. These are part of his agenda for Ikorodu

“His plans is to assist farmers with good policies and necessary farm implements,” Jackson noted.

One of the beneficiaries, Abibat Olayiwola from Erunwen Area of Ikorodu appreciated Kunle Awesu for the gesture and assured that she would deliver her best in the forthcoming examinations.

Akinola Mary, who came from Olu- Odo Area of Igbogbo/Bayeku LCDA, also speaking with our reporter said:

“I feel very happy getting this from Hon. Awesu and I really appreciate it. I promise him I will come out in flying colours.”
