A resident has called out the Executive Chairman, Ikorodu Local Government, Hon. Wasiu Adeshina over the dilapidated state of manholes on Oriwu Road close to Ojogbe Junction and along Igbogbo Road near the Police Barracks, Ikorodu.
He charged the Chairman to as a matter of urgency ensure the repairs of these manholes which are now deathtraps.
The manhole which is close to Ojogbe Junction that links TOS Benson Avenue, the road leading to the Ikorodu LG Secretariat has been in a dangerous state for years begging for the government’ s attention but nothing has been done. So also is the manhole at the connecting point of Oladunni Street to Igbogbo Road, before the Ikorodu Police Barracks.
The manholes have caused several accidents and damaged both vehicles and motorcycles.
The resident, Prince Lade who posted the report on The Frank Forum platform on Wednesday as ‘Copied’, commended the Chairman for his good works and charged him to as a matter of urgency fix these terrible spots.
The letter as addressed to the chairman is presented below:
“Dear Sir, I want to appreciate you for the great work you are doing in the Ikorodu Local Council Area.
“I am using this medium to inform you that the manholes at Ojogbe, in front of the Health Centre, beside the Remdanson Filling Station, before the traffic lights and the one at the T-junction by Police Barracks, are deathtraps for motorists.
“Kindly, as a matter of urgency and importance, assist to fix these 2 manholes properly.
“I believe safety should come first and in doing this, we must be proactive.
“I have seen the impact of your administration in several areas such as schools, roads, infrastructure, human capacity development, etc, even in places I did not expect.
“Sincerely, I appreciate you for the good works you are doing and I am convinced beyond all doubts that your administration will fix this bad portion of the road urgently”, he said.
