12 Schools In Ikorodu Get 600 Sets Of Conjoined Two – Seater Desks, Chairs From Rep. Benson

The representative of Ikorodu Federal Constituency, Rep. Babajimi Benson kicked – off his representation in 2025 by addressing some of the challenges facing education in his constituency, especially the lack of desks and chairs across schools.

Benson who has over the years facilitated the construction of several structures in schools, furniture and other facilities, on Thursday, donated over 600 sets of conjoined two-seater desks and chairs to public secondary schools in Ikorodu Federal Constituency.

The three – term lawmaker expressed his happiness with the successful distribution of the furniture by his working team – iCare Foundation.

Schools that benefited from the gesture were – Ikorodu Grammar School, Yewa Grammar School, Ikorodu High School, Odo-Kekere Community Junior School, Abule-Eko Secondary School, Luwasa Community Secondary School, Lajo Community Secondary School, Reri Secondary School, Isawo Grammar School, Agbede Grammar School, Ansarudeen Grammar School, and Ifelodun High School.

Speaking as regards the donation on his social media handles, Rep. Benson said: “I am thrilled to kick – off the New Year with the successful distribution of over 600 sets of conjoined two-seater desks and chairs to public secondary schools in Ikorodu Federal Constituency.

“The initiative benefited 12 selected public secondary schools in Ikorodu Local Government and 5 LCDAs within Ikorodu Division.

“The principals, teachers, and students were ecstatic to receive the classroom furniture, which will undoubtedly enhance learning and improve teaching facilities.

“I extend my heartfelt gratitude to the members of iCare Foundation for their invaluable assistance in presenting the classroom furniture to the schools.

“This initiative demonstrates our commitment to supporting education and empowering the next generation. We look forward to continuing our efforts to make a positive impact in Ikorodu Federal Constituency”, the lawmaker said.

Alhaja Monsurat Odumbo, the iCare woman leader, who spoke during donation of the chairs to the schools charged the staff and students on the need to make good use of the facilities.

She explained that the lawmaker is supporting educational development in collaboration with the state government.

“On behalf of Yewa Senior Grammar School, the management, staff and the students, we are saying thank you and more grease to his elbow”, she said,

Mr Musari, Vice Principal (Administration), Ikorodu High School, who received the donated items on behalf of the school appreciated the donor for his continuous support to the school and pledged that the furniture would be taken care of properly.

A member of the Ikorodu High School Parents’ Forum, Mrs Akani who was on the ground during the presentation said that the donation has saved parents the trouble of contributing money to procure the desks and chairs for their wards.

Students that also spoke across the schools were also full of appreciation for Rep. Benson for his gesture and efforts in providing the conducive academic environment and developing education generally.
