Sanwo – Olu Confirms Council Elections To Hold In 20 LGs, 37 LCDAs

It is now certain that the upcoming council elections will be holding in the 20 Local Government Areas and 37 Local Council Development Areas (LCDAs) in Lagos State. The Governor of the State, Mr Babajide Sanwo – Olu has confirmed

He made the confirmation on the on the Breakfast Show on the Television Continental (TVC) where he was a guest on Monday and spoke on the topic, “Transforming Lagos”.

The Governor had the privileged to be the first guest to appear on the station’s world – class facility at Eko Atlantic City, Lagos, which officially launched today with the Breakfast Show.

Sanwo – Olu speaking on the council election said the LCDAs are babies of the state and have come to stay.

As he put it during the talk show, “These are babies that we gave birth to 24 years ago. They are alive, well and working and breeding. They have been part of our DNA. They have been well set up.

“We are not asking for additional funding from the federating account. We will continue to utilize what we have.

“We will be conducting elections (Local Government) in the 20 LGs and 37 LCDAs by the grace of God once the Lagos State Independent Electoral Commission personnel get their acts together and start working.”

The governor discussed how the media plays a vital role in fostering unity, shaping public opinion, and driving socio-economic development and also spoke about critical developments in the state and country, stating that financial markets are showing signs of stability, offering a renewed opportunity to pass benefits to residents.

He stated that Lagos State staying strategically positioned, will continue to lead in leveraging these opportunities for the social and economic well-being of her people.
