Following series of visits to the Lagos State University of Science and Technology (LASUSTECH) last year by regulatory and various professional bodies, for the purpose of ascertaining available facilities in various programmes in the institution, Chartered Insurance Institute of Nigeria (CIIN) has granted full professional accreditation to run its Bachelor of Science (B. Sc.) Insurance programme.
In a statement by LASUSTECH management, the approval is the first of the accreditation exercise conducted for 25 programs of the University between November and December 2024, by both the NUC and professional bodies.
Going by the certificate presented to the University by the Institute, the accreditation is valid for two years, November 2024 to August, 2026, when it is expected to be renewed.
The statement added:
“The Vice Chancellor is delighted to report this development to the University community as the first fruit of the investment of the Lagos State Government, dedication of the Council and the entire staff to the success of the just concluded accreditation exercise”.
