It was another fun – filled, exciting and engaging GLOWFUX Charity Concert as hundreds of children from different orphanage homes were provided with another opportunity to mingle and celebrate the 2024 December season with others that came with their families.

At the annual concert being organized by FANAFILLIT, to support orphanage homes and create a celebratory atmosphere for children and families, which held at the National Museum, Onikan, the organizer inaugurated Board of Trustees (BOT) and Advisory Board (AB) for its new initiative – Bundle of Hope Foundation (BHF) which is saddled with the responsibilities of organizing quarterly outreach to empower needy homes.

This year’s edition, which is the 9th edition of the GLOWFUX Charity Concert, was themed, ‘Uniting Hearts, Transforming Lives’.

Inaugurated as BOT members were Barr. Folami Olamio, Col. (Barr.) Dr. Abayomi Samuel Dare (Rtd.), Dr (Mrs) Tosin Dokpesi, Prof. Abigail Ogwezzy, Mr Toyin Elefontuyi, Mr Adams Olanipekun, FCA, FCTI and Mrs Bisi Claire Jaguna, while Alhaja Aderonke Oshikoya, Mr. Babatunde Amaakaiye Olowu and Olukunle Adelabu are members of the Advisory Board.

According to Mr Olubode Mac. Oserinde, founder of FANAFILLIT, introducing the BHF to the large audience, said:

“Bundle of Hope Foundation is a beacon of compassion and empowerment, dedicated to uplifting the lives of the underserved through impactful outreach programs and transformative initiatives. The foundation shall operate with a deep commitment to making a positive difference in the lives of those in need, fostering a future where hope thrives”.

He said that the board will also work towards providing educational opportunities in form of scholarship to nurture the potential of every child at organized needy homes.

He also said that the board will create competitive environment geared towards fostering talents, donate books, home appliances, food, clothing, healthcare among others to the orphanage homes.

Oserinde added:

“As the proud executive producer of the GLOWFUX Charity Concert, the Bundle of Hope Foundation orchestrates an annual end -of the – year celebration that transcends mere festivities. This flagship event serves as a testament to our commitment to joy, unity, and social impact. Through GLOWFUX and its attendant activities, we aim to create moment of joy, inspire positive change, and celebrate the spirit of giving.

“At Bundle of Hope Foundation, we believe that each act of kindness, no matter how small, has the power to illuminate lives. Join us in our journey of hope, compassion, and empowerment, so that together, we shape a future where everyone has the opportunity to thrive”, he concluded.

For 2024, Hon. Kamal Ayinde Bayewu (FCIB), Chairman, Lagos State Local Government Service Commission and Mrs Ngozi Ezinwa Adeole – Idowu, an educator and philanthropist, were honoued as GLOWFUX man and woman of the year.

The GLOWFUX NGO of 2024 award went to Lagos Food Bank, while Social Responsible Organisation of the year was bestowed on The Ambassadors Schools.

Joining the existing 14 GLOWFUX Young Ambassadors were eight new inductees who are expected to cultivate the principles and act of humanitarian gesture from their childhood and support in spreading the GLOWFUX ideals.

In his keynote address, Rotarian Femi Adenekan, Governor, Rotary International District 9112, described the event as unique in the sense that it lives in the hearts of young ones and helps them know how to give and show compassion to others.

He thanked parents and sponsors for identifying with the initiative that promotes humanitarian service and which inculcate in the children the culture of selflessness and care for others.

He charged parents and guests to continue supporting the GLOWFUX idea in achieving its goals of caring for orphanage homes.

Rotarian Adenekan commended the organisers for coming up with the laudable initiative of helping the less privilege.

Speaking earlier, Olaniyan Busolami Rebecca, 2024 GLOWFUX Project Coordinator, welcoming children and other guests, thanked them for being part of the 9th edition of the GLOWFUX Charity Concert.

While acknowledging the challenges encountered in putting the event together, she commended the initiator for his foresight in initiating a platform to support orphanage homes and also necessary leadership.

She also commended individuals, groups and corporate bodies that supported the initiative.

While stating that GLOWFUX is more than an event, but a movement and call to action, Rebecca also charged guests to support the idea by becoming its ambassadors through rendering their support and spreading its gospels.

Items that were received and procured for this year were distributed amongst 10 orphanage homes which were: Modupe Cole Memorial Child Care and Treatment Home/School, Akoka, Hikanos Foundation, Igbogbo, Ikorodu, Only God Charity Home Initiative, Liadi, Adamo, Ikorodu, Lofty Skills Soccer Academy, Oke – Eletu, Ijede, Ikorodu, Magnificent Therapy Services, Sabo, Yaba,Tunji Adebayo, Fagba, Lagos, Divine Heritage, Gintin, Ijede, Ikorodu, House of Chloe Orphanage, Dele Kuti, Ipakodo, Ikorodu, Child Life Line, Shotuyi Estate, Gbagada and Little Saints Orphanage, Palmgroove Estate, Lagos.

Different music acts and other entertainers took their turns on the stage to entertain guests.

Children at the charity concert had the opportunity to participate in many games and fun activities and had productive time at the large and well – equipped game centre beside the event centre where families also hung – out during and after the concert.

Families also took time out to go round the National Museum.
