Ona Ogo’25: Our hugs will be bigger; our smiles will be broader
Praises to God Almighty for making us witness the end of an eventful 2024 and for the privilege to usher in a promising 2025.
2024 was eventful locally, nationally and globally for many right and wrong reasons but our hope remains solid that 2025 promises much better than bad events.
Despite all connected, regrettable painful occurrences, our show of love in the year and more around the Yuletide demonstrated our love and kindness to one another. From private individuals and groups to political and community leaders to youths and students, we amplified the essence of compassion. Big kudos for our large hearts.
In 2025 and beyond, we should strengthen our focus on giving for love rather than giving against hunger. When we realise that the more the people prosper the more poverty perishes and the more love lives, we can take the steps and do the work together to enlarge our hugs and broaden our smiles. This is the central assurance of Ona Ogo’25.
Ona Ogo’25 is an aspiration that is founded on taking collective actions to consolidate and enhance the achievements of outgoing administration and on the conviction that our society should be people-centric.
Since the birth of Ona Ogo’25 a few months ago, the outpouring of support has been overwhelming. The immense honour to be counselled by all leaders of thoughts and influence has been incredible. Youths and elders, male and female residents have all put their skin in the game for Ona Ogo’25 and we could not be more thankful.
We appreciate the privilege of amassing different governance opinions during meetings with leaders and thousands of supportive residents. Kindly note that your opinions are invaluable as they underpin Ona Ogo’25 agenda and will catalyse all our actions for progress. We take it on the chin the few cold shoulders reception – to us the cold shoulders serve as further incentives [for us] to be forthright and resolute in our determination to provide inimitable public service when we come on board.
Ona Ogo’25 promises to take representation and service off the chain. We will provide an administration that enables, equips and motivates council staff to provide regular excellent service to the people and our community.
The political elements are recognised, but under our watch, council service will benefit from the infusion of ethical discipline and top-notch fairness. We will be, more than before, open to beneficial collaborations as we take scalable sustainable actions on socioeconomic empowerment of the people.
You can bank on our thoroughness, astuteness, transformative spirit, and fidelity to the people as much as possible. Our overarching goal is making IBLCDA healthier, more secure, more vibrant, more alluring, and more prosperous. We assure you that we will do everything to increase social, security, economic and infrastructural investments in our LCDA to make living more pleasant for us all. Our solemn pact with you is that all concerns will be attended to with vigour, valour and virtue as we strongly commit to ensuring the needs of our LCDA are met timeously. We ask you to join us prepare for the opportunities in 2025 and strategise strongly against the potential challenges.
