The Asiwaju of Igbogbo Kingdom and chieftain of the Governance Advisory Council (GAC), Asiwaju Olorunfunmi Basorun, has affirmed the newest Asiwaju and Yeye Asiwaju of Ibesheland, Asiwaju Kaoli Olusanya and Yeye Asiwaju Kemi Olusanya, as deserving of the chieftaincy titles.
Asiwaju Basorun, a former Secretary to the Lagos State Government, in his tribute to the newest Asiwaju and Yeye Asiwaju, said that he gave his support and endorsement when he was consulted by the honoree.
The elder statesman who depicted Asiwaju Olusanya and Yeye Asiwaju Olusanya’s qualification for the highly deserving positions with a quote, also commended the family for being a strong and cohesive one.

Were not attained by a sudden flight.
But they while their companions slept
Were tolling through in the night.”
‘The quote above succinctly summarises the journey of your life so far. I have known you for over four decades, two of which are as a close associate.
“As a family man, I congratulate you for building a strong, cohesive and productive family, one example of which is your daughter, Abisola Olusanya, who is now in the sixth year as Lagos State Commissioner for Agriculture and Food System; the ministry you also occupied with the portfolio of Agriculture and Cooperatives for eight years-1999 to 2007,’ Asiwaju Basorun said.
The political warhorse also commended Asiwaju Kaoli for his roles in political, community and educational developments.
“In many fronts, especially politics and community services, you have excelled. A first recognition of this was why late Ayangbure of Ikorodu Kingdom, HRM Oba Salaudeen Afolabi Oyefusi made you the ASIPA OF IKORODU. In politics, not only have you served as Commissioner, you also successfully superintended over the affairs of our party in the Lagos East Senatorial District for four years without blemish.
“For your new cap today, you must have consulted widely when the Olubeshe of Ibesheland, HRM, Oba Richard Abayomi Ogunsanya, offered to make you the ASIWAJU of IBESHELAND. I was flabbergasted when I received your message requesting for my blessing. I promptly responded. It is apposite to reproduce in this tribute my response for public consumption as the real tribute for the man who the cap fits – ASIWAJU KAOLI OLATUNJI OLUSANYA ( & YEYE OLUKEMI OLAREWAJU OLUSANYA).

In addition, by setting up a gigantic educational institution in his domain, you have excelled in meaningful support for the domain of Kabiyesi. You and your wife therefore deserve to be honoured as ASIWAJU of IBESHELAND AND YEYE ASIWAJU. I FULLY SUPPORT AND ENDORSE Kabiyesi’s honour for you and your wife.
