The number of the beneficiaries of the annual scholarship award by Olori Abosede Kudirat Abosede Shotobi, the wife of the Ayangbure of Ikorodu Kingdom, has been increased to 20.
Before the increment that was announced by the Ayangbure of Ikorodu, His Royal Majesty, Oba Kabir Shotobi, six pupils had been benefitting from the scholarship annually.
Meanwhile, Oba Shotobi made the announcement about the increase recently while commissioning the newly renovated hall at the Methodist Primary School, Ikorodu, by the Ikorodu – Oga Development Association (IKODASS), with the support of Olori Shotobi.

“It is every year, my Olori organizes Christmas party for primary schools’ pupils at the palace. But a few years back, Olori converted it to scholarship award. Usually, six outstanding children, one from each Division in the state, from those that sat for qualification examinations organized by Executive Secretary (Ikorodu Local Government Education Authority), are usually given the scholarship award.
“For this year’s edition, Olori has made provisions for the scholarship funds, and it is coming up on the 24th of December.
“She has also increased the number of beneficiaries to 20. Some of these beneficiaries will have the opportunity of enjoying the scholarship and free education throughout their secondary education”, Oba Shotobi announced.

While stating that three schools have already keyed in to accommodate the beneficiaries, the royal father commended his wife for his love for children and their educational development.
“So far, three schools have responded positively to our letters. These are Tindip Schools, Kith and Kin, and Strong Tower Academy.
“I want to appreciate and acknowledge the ideals and ideas of Olori, for taking good care of these children.

“I thank God that my wife has passion for education. She is always dedicated to anything education. God will continue to take care of your own wherever they are”, Oba Shotobi prayed.
