After weeks of thrilling, exciting and skillful displays by various teams in the maiden edition of the Ijede LCDA Chairman’s Cup, Ojikutu FC and Sholumade FC have qualified for the final match.
The final match, which is expected to be an exciting game, is scheduled to be played at 3pm on Sunday, December 22, 2024, at the Anwarl-Ul-Islam Primary School’s field in ljede. The field has hosted all the matches played in the tournament so far.
The third-place match between the Oke-Eletu 2 FC and Palace FC, comes up at 4pm at Anwar-Ul-Islam Primary School, Ijede, on Friday, December 20, 2024.
The champions of the tournament, initiated and sponsored by Hon Motunrayo Gbadebo Alogba, Chairman, ljede LCDA, will go home with the star prize of N500, 000, while the second and third place teams will earn N300, 000 and N200, 000 respectively.
In the semi – finals played on Wednesday, Ojikutu FC edged out Oke-Eletu 2 FC 2-1, while Sholumade FC secured their place in the Five-A-Side tournament after eliminating the young lads of Palace FC in a penalty shoot-out.
The match between the best two teams promises to be a thrilling game that will bring the weeks of great soccer experience to a memorable end.
