-Inaugurates the 3-days crusade as annual Oke – Eletu programme every December
The Eletu of Oke – Eletu, in Ijede Local Council Development Area (LCDA) of Ikorodu Division, Lagos State, Southwest, Nigeria, High Chief Adeniyi Omotayo Ajayi, has revealed how he received divine message from God to organise a three -day crusade.
The crusade tagged, “Divine Protection” took place at the Oke – Eletu Open Market, starting on Wednesday, December 11 through Friday December 13, 2024.
At the crusade, Eletu Adeniyi Ajayi who announced that the crusade would from now be an annual prgramme when he mounted the podium, also narrated how he received God’s vision in his dream when he saw three pots filled with water fetched from the river with different meanings.
He said that he left his house in the midnight to join a vigil at a Church with the intention of explaining the vision to Pastor Olubola, Minister – in – Charge for interpretation, but while at the Church, he decided to sit at the back unnoticed so as not to distract the service but he got hint of the answer through the sermon delivered by the Pastor during the vigil who spoke without hearing from him.
He further stated that three days after he was unable to get satisfactory interpretation despite the similarity of what he heard at the vigil, he received Pastor Obafemi, the Minister -in -Charge CAC Oke – Eletu and Baba Omokagbo, another man of God, in his house
Eletu said that both informed him that God has already revealed the vision that he was trying to explain to them and they charged him never to be ashamed of praising God and doing his will.
According to Eletu Adeniyi Ajayi, “The message of God that I received was like the Ark of Noah; telling me that I should pass it to indigenes, residents and every other person coming into Oke – Eletu and that attend the crusade will not go back in the same way.
“I thank my fathers (Pastor Obafemi and Baba Omokagbo) for listening and believing in me when I told you about the vision. You did not only listen to me, but you also supported, propagated and made it possible. I sincerely appreciate you.”
“While stating that he inherited evangelism from his parents, Eletu Adeniyi also added that he was not scared to embark on the gospel of winning his community for God.
“What is happening during my reign is not an accident, but the fact that I was born into a praying family. When we talk about CAC in Ikorodu, my great grandmother was the first Iya – Ijo of the CAC in Ikorodu. And, when you talk about the Methodist Church in Ikorodu, I am member of the Church.
“So, this is what I inherited from my parents and I charge you all to lay good foundations for your children so that they can be steadfast in faith.
“There is a food restaurant called ‘Yakojeun Obi Re Ti Sanwo’ (Come in and eat because your parents have paid for it), and when you enter the place to eat and satisfy your hunger you are asked to pay but you point out to them that you were not supposed to pay.
“In responding to you, they would ask you that if your parents have paid for your own feeding, are you not supposed to pay for your children?”
He narrated the foregoing and added that:
“I thank God that my parents paid for my own food and placed me on a solid foundation. I inherited good fortune in discipline and fear of God and that is why I am also trying to give that to my own children and the entire community.
“As the head of the community, I am not ashamed to preach the gospel of God and I am happy doing this.”
The High Chief further noted, “It is important to state that this is the maiden edition of the crusade and it has come to stay in Oke – Eletu. We shall have the next edition next year and so it shall be in subsequent years.
“Through this, God has announced His presence in Oke -Eletu and God shall stay with us permanently”, he said.
The Chairman, Ijede LCDA, Hon. Motunrayo Gbadebo – Alogba, in her remarks commended the Eletu Adeniyi for inaugurating the crusade which she described as a good development.
Hon. Gbadebo – Alogba who was represented by the Secretary to the Ijede LCDA, Mr Kunle Olambiwoninu, also pledged her support for the initiative and pray for peace, unity and development in Oke – Eletu and Ijede LCDA in general.
Pastor Gabriel Obafemi of the Christ Apostolic Church, Oke – Eletu in his opening sermon on the first day titled, “Divine Visitation”, also commended Eletu Ajayi for professing God and acting in accordance to His dictates.
“God has used Eletu to make this crusade happen in Oke – Eletu and he sincerely received the instruction and was not afraid to deliver God’s message to his people.
“It is something for one to hear the voice of God; it is another thing to process and carry it out. In this case, Eletu heard the voice and followed the directive of the Almighty God by spearheading the organisation of the first – ever crusade in his kingdom that brought together all Churches and people”’ he said.
The preacher who said that he was not surprised at how God is leading the Eletu, attested to the fact that he was born into a CAC congregation and how his grandmother took him as a son.
He emphasized that man should seek always the protection of God which he said is everlasting instead of that of man which he said is minimal.
Pastor Obafemi quoted copiously from Mathew 10: 30 -32, 1 Isaiah 43:13, Psalm 121: 5 and 6, Deut. 31: 6 and Isaiah 49: 16, to buttress his point that God’s protection and good health are the major things that man needs in life.
Most Prophet (Evangelist) E.O. Owolewa led the prayer on the opening day while Pastor Oladeji Samuel and Pastor Francis Fatai Ajalogun, who incidentally is the Asiwaju of Oke – Eletu, led the hymns.
On the third and the final day, the sermon was delivered by The Very Revd O.E. Adewuyi of the Methodist Church, Oke – Eletu, who emphasized that God has perfected His work over the community and shall stand for it and those that believe in him.
He read from Psalm 23: 4:11, Acts of Apostle 4: 12 and 1 Cor. 1: 18.
The combined Choir of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Oke – Eletu Chapter offered special numbers throughout the three days of the crusade.
Also, in attendance at the three – crusade were Mrs Omotayo Adeniyi, wife of the Eletu, Head of Sogba Family of Oke – Eletu, Chief Oludayo Oshikoya, Chief Olumide Shobote and other chieftains of the family.
