Mr. Shamseldeen Babatunde Ogunjimi as the newly appointed acting Accountant General of the Federation (AGF)

Following the announcement of Mr. Shamseldeen Babatunde Ogunjimi as the Acting Accountant General of the Federation (AGF), by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Tuesday, Rep. Babajimi Benson has congratulated him on what he termed ‘a well – deserved appointment.’

The appointment was contained in a statement by the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga.

President Tinubu emphasized the critical role of the Accountant General’s office in managing the nation’s treasury.

Ogunjimi’s appointment which takes immediate effect, follows the pre-retirement leave of the outgoing AGF, Dr. (Mrs.) Oluwatoyin Sakirat Madein.

Rep. Benson, the representative of Ikorodu Federal Constituency who chaired the House of Representatives’ committee on defence, in a statement said that professional and managerial qualities among others make the new appointee well qualified for the job.

“Heartfelt congratulations to Mr. Shamseldeen Babatunde Ogunjimi on his well-deserved appointment as Acting Accountant General of the Federation (AGF).

“This appointment is a testament to his wealth of experience, efficiency, and exceptional leadership qualities, which align perfectly with President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.

“As a seasoned professional with over 30 years of experience in financial management, Mr. Ogunjimi is well-equipped to lead the treasury management operations and implement reforms that will strengthen the nation’s financial systems.

“I wish him continued success and fulfillment as he embarks on this new chapter in his distinguished career.
