The Grand Chief Imam of Ikorodu Division, Fadlilat Sheikh Imam Sheifdeen Ayinla Olowooribi, led other spiritual fathers, Islamic scholars and eminent personalities gathered at the Igbogbo Central Mosque for the 8 – day Fidaus prayer for the late Pa Musbau Adebayo Andu-Shokefun.
The late revered community and religious leader, died Monday, November 18 and was buried in accordance with Islamic rites.
At the 8-day Fidaus prayer held at the Igbogbo Central Mosque which was conducted by Ansar -Ud- Deen Society of Nigeria, Igbogbo branch led by Sheik Imam Abdulrazak Almubarak, who also conducted donation for Phototherapy Unit which the children of the deceased intend to donate to General hospital Ikorodu.
While the children donated a Phototherapy Unit in memory of their father, money was raised for another one from guests present at the prayer session.
The Fidaus lecture was delivered by Dr Ibrahim Mustapha, PhD (Islamic Studies), the Resident Imam, University of Lagos Muslim Community who spoke on “Remembrance of Death and How to Prepare for it”.
Other spiritual fathers at the prayer were Grand Chief Imam of Igbogbo/Bayeku LCDA Sheikh Imam Sikirullahi Tanimose Andu who is the immediate younger brother of the deceased and Grand Chief Imam of Ikorodu West LCDA, Fadlilat Sheikh Mushafau Aridegbe. Both of them offered special prayers for unity and love after the death of Pa Musibau Andu among the children and the entire family of Pa Andu- Sokefun.
He was survived by Children: Mrs Fariat Odunsi née Andu, Mr Abdulsobur Andu, Mr Abdulakeem Andu, Dr Abdulfatai Andu, Mrs Mariam Sanusi née Andu and Mr Abdulkareem Andu
Profile of Pa Musbau Adebayo Andu-Shokefun
Pa Andu-Shokefun was born on the 15th of January, 1931, into the Okushelu family of Itunmaran in Igbogbo. He was the son of Abdullah Andu-Shokefun and Suwabatu Awotunde.
He completed his Standard 6 education in Abeokuta and went on to learn tailoring under the tutelage of one of his uncles. In 1967, he joined the Nigerian Police Force, where he served diligently at the Ibadan and Abeokuta Commands. After an illustrious 35-year career marked by dedication and integrity, he retired meritoriously as an Assistant Superintendent of Police.
Pa Musbau Andu-Shokefun was happily married and blessed with six children, fourteen grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren. More than a great-grandfather, grandfather, father, father in-law, uncle, brother, friend, and husband, he was a guiding light, a steadfast rock, and a shining example of love, wisdom, and strength. His unwavering dedication to his family’s well-being and unity will never be forgotten.
