The Lagos State University Muslim Alumni (LASUMA) will hold its Annual General Meeting (AGM) today, Sunday, December 8th, at the Shamsi Adisa Thomas (SAT) Hall, First Secretariat, along LASUTH road, Ikeja, Lagos.
The event, themed “Sustainable Alternative Solutions to the current Nigeria Socio-Economic and Leadership Challenges,” aims to bring together experts, thought leaders, and stakeholders to discuss and proffer solutions to the country’s pressing challenges will be chaired and opened by Senator Mikhail Tokunbo Abiru, Senator representing Lagos East.
The AGM will feature a keynote address by Professor Bilkis Lafiaji-Okunneye, as well as panel discussions and presentations by other distinguished speakers, including Senator Mikhail Tokunbo Abiru, Idiat Adebule, HRM. Saheed Elegushi, Hon. Rasulu, and other eminent Nigerians.
The focus areas for discussion will include:
Economic Development: Exploring alternative economic models and strategies for sustainable growth and development.
Leadership and Governance: Examining the role of leadership in addressing Nigeria’s socio-economic challenges and proposing solutions for effective governance.
Education and Human Capital Development: Discussing innovative approaches to education and human capital development, and their impact on Nigeria’s socio-economic growth.
Security and Social Cohesion: Analyzing the challenges to national security and social cohesion, and proposing solutions for building a more peaceful and harmonious society.
The President of the Lagos State University Muslim Alumni (LASUMA), Dr. Abdulazeez Anjorin, from the Department of Microbiology, Lagos State University, has assured all expected dignitaries and attendees that the AGM is ready to commence tomorrow, by the special grace of Allah.
The president, his executive cabinets, and various committees of the AGM have been working tirelessly towards the success of the meeting. They are hopeful that the meeting will provide a platform for stakeholders to converge and proffer sustainable and alternative solutions to Nigeria’s current economic challenges.
In recognition of their outstanding contributions to society, special awards will be presented to distinguished dignitaries. These awards aim to celebrate their impactful efforts and commitment to making a positive difference in the lives of Nigerians.
The event promises to be a thought-provoking gathering, featuring keynote addresses, panel discussions, and presentations by other distinguished speakers.
