After weeks of intense football games, all is now set for the epic final match of the Ikorodu Constituency II Unity Cup, as Makbet All Stars will face the Igbogbo All Stars in the final game slated for Egbin Power Plc Football Playing Ground, Egbin in Ijede Local Council Development Area (LCDA).
The final match is slated for 1pm on Sunday, December 15, 2024.
The two teams qualified after thrilling semi – final matches of the tournament being sponsored by the representative of Ikorodu Constituency II, Hon. Aro Moshood Abiodun (AMA), held at designated venues today.
While the Igbogbo All Stars edged out Igbe All Stars with a narrow 1 – 0 win, after an highly entertaining match, Makbet All Stars fully dominated the second match against Alabamo All Stars and won the match 2 – 0.
Igbogbo team’s strikers showcased their offensive strength in the 20th minute of the match to secure a place in the final, while the defense held firm throughout the match. On the other hand, Makbet’s well-coordinated attacks and clinical finishing were the hallmarks of their performance, making them deserving finalists.
Both teams shown exceptional talents and resilience spirits throughout the tournament, with the final game promises to be a great showdown.
For weeks, the tournament brought together residents from different parts of Ikorodu Constituency II, in the spirit of sportsmanship and cooperation, thereby, promoting unity which is the aim of the initiator and sponsor, Hon. Aro Moshood Abiodun (AMA).
