The Deputy Governor of Lagos State, His Excellency, Dr Obafemi Hamzat, will be returning back to Ikorodu in the next few days to chair another community day event after his coming last week for the grand finale of the Ikorodu – Oga Carnival.
Come Saturday, November 30, 2024, the date for the grand finale of the Igbogbo Day, Dr Obafemi will also co – chair the ceremony alongside the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and former Deputy Governor of Lagos Her Excellency, Princess Adejoke Orelope – Adefulire, OFR, who will be the Chairperson.
The grand finale will hold at Zumratul Islamiyah Grammar School, Igbogbo.
This was revealed by the Chairman, Igbogbo Day Planning Committee 2021/24, Mr Titilope Andu-Balogun at the ground breaking ceremony of the civic centre by His Royal Majesty, Oba Semiudeen Kasali, the Adeboruwa of Igbogbo supported by Sir (Dr.) Omotunde Ogunlaja, Chairman Igbogbo Development Association (IDEA) and Igbogbo Civic Centre Project Implementation Committee, Prince Adesegun Ogunlewe, former Head of Service, Lagos State among others.
“The grand finale will be held on November 30, 2024 at Zumratul Islamiyah Grammar School, Igbogbo by 10am prompt.
This year’s occasion will be chaired by H.E Dr. Obafemi Hamzat, (The Deputy Governor of Lagos State) and the chairperson of the day is H.E Princess Adejoke Orelope-Adefulire OFR ( SSA to the President on SDGs),” he noted.
The activities commemorating the Igbogbo Day continue today with Induction into Igbogbo Hall of Fame Luncheon with Adeboruwa of Igbogbo, Presentation of Award of Excellence, Induction into Igbogbo Ambassadors and Elders’ Day Celebration with all Olootu Ebis in Igbogbo.
It will be the final of the Education Programmes: Quiz Debate Competitions on Monday and Cultural Day on Tuesday.
On Wednesday, November, 28, the Oloja Adeboruwa, Community Development and the Artisan Day and the Legal Clinic will hold.
