The new Miss Ikorodu – Oga, Miss Olawunmi Otayomi, has said that she will be focusing on encouraging and motivating orphans to have confidence in themselves and cultivate the determination to be successful.
Miss Olawunmi, who is a 200 level student of Psychology at the Adekunle Ajasin University, promised to also pursue her academic career and graduate in flying colours. The newest Miss Ikorodu Oga described the contest as stressful, fun and interesting.
She will be representing the Crystal Club Ikorodu for the next one year.
The winner of the 2024 Miss Ikorodu – Oga Pageant, spoke with THE IMPACT at the grand finale of the 33rd Ikorodu – Oga Carnival held at at the weekend.
“The contest was so very stressful and at the same time fun, interesting, fantabulous; but I thank GOD for this great opportunity to win and get the crown as Miss Ikorodu -Oga 2024 during the 33rd edition of Ikorodu -Oga Day.
“My co-contestants are also queens like me, because we have been into pageantry not today, not yesterday. It’s been long. I address them as queens also, as they address me as their queen,” she said.
Speaking on her plans, Miss Olawunmi said:
“My plan in the next one year is to focus on my education and learning handcraft work, which is fashion designing. I have to face my school and also face my fashion designing.
“But, my pet project is to visit the orphanage home, and I will do that soon. I’m going to visit the orphanage homes. Then later on, I’ll visit public primary schools, to address pupils not to lose confidence in themselves and to always focus on where they are going to, because determination is the key to success.”
She pleaded for support for her education and pet projects from members of the public.
Meanwhile, members of the Crystal Club have hosted the new Ikorodu queen who is the club’s ambassador.
Introducing Miss Olawunmi to the club, the Crystal Club President, Alhaji Wale Amusa (HOMAT), said that she emerged triumphantly as the representative of the club in the last contest.
The hosting took place at the Gbadamosi Conference Room of the Ikorodu Town Hall, where members of the club hosted their after – Ikorodu – Oga grand finale ceremony party.
The club pledged to support its ambassador achieve her dreams in the next one year.
