Dr Omotunde Ogunlaja, a respected medical practitioner retained the position of the President of IDEA as the Adeboruwa of Igbogbo, His Royal Majesty, Oba (Barr.) Semiudeen Orimadegun Kasali, and the Adeboruwa – in – Council reconstituted the executive council of the Igbogbo Development Association (IDEA).
The tenure of the past executive of IDEA, which is the central development association for the Igbogbo Kingdom, lapsed years back without reconstitution until Saturday, November 16, at the Adeboruwa Palace, Igbogbo.
Also inaugurated was the Igbogbo Ultra – Modern Civic Centre Project Implementation Committee.
THE IMPACT gathered that the former Commissioner for Tourism, Arts and Culture, Hon. (Chief) Mrs Adebimpe Akinsola, also retained her position as the Vice President, while the Deputy Vice Chancellor, Lagos State University (LASU) and a Professor of Economics, Prof. Olufunsho Omobitan, is the second Vice President.
There was reorganization in the secretariat of the newly reconstituted body, as the retired Director and an active community development mobiliser, who was also the immediate past secretary of IDEA, Engr. Lateef Oduntan, retained his position as the General Secretary, while Mr Tunde Afuwape is the Administrative Secretary and Engr. Taofeek Kalejaiye is the Technical Secretary.
The Treasurer of the association is Alhaji Ganiu Oduntan and a youth leader and the former President, Igbogbo Youth Coalition (IYC), Mr Olugbenga Oduniyi, is the Financial Secretary. These among others were inaugurated by the Adeboruwa – in – Council.
IDEA is responsible for the constitution of the Igbogbo Day Celebration Planning Committee and implementation of developmental projects for the Igbogbo community.
For the Central Project Committee on Civic Centre, the IDEA President, Dr Ogunlaja, doubled as its chairman, while TPL Bisi Ogunlewe is the Vice Chairman.
Engr. Abiodun Dankuwo was inaugurated as the Chairman of the Technical sub – committee of the Central Project Committee while Engr. Bayo Odusanya, the Permanent Secretary for Ministry of Works and Infrastructures, Lagos State, is the Vice Chairman.
The Finance sub – committee is chaired by Alhaji Ganiu Oduntan while Alhaji Sulaimon Ayokunle is the Vice Chairman and the Procurement sub – committee has Mr Monsuru Hassan as its chairman and Mr Hameed Sholanke as its Vice Chairman.
The Government Liaison sub – committee is headed by Hon. Adebimpe Akinsola with Mrs Kemi Kalesanwo, the Director, Agency for Mass Literacy and others as members.
