Motorcycle operators.

Residents of Ikorodu have again been warned about the activities of some kidnappers disguising as commercial motorcycle operators popularly called ‘Okada’ in the local parlance.

A woman who alleged that she was almost kidnapped on Tuesday night between the California Junction and Ikorodu Club in Ikorodu, gave the latest warning in a TikTok video.

She warned residents against boarding the Okada of any rider wearing nose mask, fez cap and carrying bag in the front.

The incident is the second of such unfortunate kidnapping attempts in the last two weeks in Ikorodu.

A lady had about two weeks ago also alleged via a video seen on the social media that a motorbike operator who carried her from Ojogbe going to Ebute made her doze off and had driven her close to the Suya Spot along the Igbogbo/Ebute Road when she realised that she had passed Ebute because she dozed off after the rider who was wearing a mask opened a bag he was carrying on the bike tank.

She said that she had to jump off the motorbike when it got to Suya Spot where she called for help.

In the latest video, the woman in the TikTok said that she smelled strange odour, which also made her doze off.

“I boarded the Okada from the California Junction, and while on our way to Ikorodu Club, I suddenly started perceiving a strange smell which made me doze off.

“On realising this, I started shouting ‘blood of Jesus.’ I saw a man whom I shouted at as ‘Honourable’ to draw his attention.

“It was at the Okada Park at Ikorodu Club that I insisted that I wanted to highlight and requested of the woman selling bread (pointing at the woman in the video) at the junction to give N300 to pay for the fare,” she recounted her experience.

The woman also stated that the Okada rider panicked, thanked her and sped off.

She warned residents against boarding any Okada whose rider is wearing a nose mask, fez cap, and carrying bags on motorbike ‘s tank.
