Four months after laying the foundation of 200 hostel bed infrastructure at the Lagos State Civil Service Model College, Igbogbo, the Fadugba Ogunlewe Royal Family is set to commission the facilities.
The two ultra – modern hostels for male and female students were commissioned and will be donated in honour of two patriarchs of the family – Oba Festus Molaja Ogunlewe, late Adeboruwa of Igbogbo and his brother, Prince Amos Olugbosi Ogunlewe, to honour their contributions to education in Igbogbo.
The facilities which are equipped with modern amenities will be commissioned on Saturday, November 2nd, 2024, to commemorate the 89th birthday of the Head of the Lagugba Ogunlewe Royal Family and former Federal Permanent Secretary, Dr Akinola Ogunlewe.
The IMPACT’s reporter who visited the two facilities on Wednesday reported that they are 80% completed with finishing touches being done to make them fully ready for the commissioning at the weekend.
Workers were seen working round the clock to fix the few remaining fixtures to be put in place before the commissioning and official handing over to the Lagos State Government.
A chieftain of the family and former Minister for Works, Sen. Adeseye Ogunlewe speaking with our reporter at his Apalura home in Igbogbo said that the commissioning will be done to commemorate the 89th birthday of his brother, Dr Akin Ogunlewe.
He also informed that the hostels will still managed by the family after the commissioning to ensure its sustainability.
