In his quest to assist the Nigerian government in addressing food challenges, the representative of Ikorodu Federal Constituency and Chairman House Committee on Defense, Rep. Babajimi Benson, has sponsored a bill to establish Armed Forces Ranches and Farms.
The three – term lawmaker, calling on his colleagues to support the bill that would strengthen the country’s defense and economic stability.
Rep. Benson stated this on his social media handles on Tuesday.
“Today, I am proud to sponsor the Armed Forces Ranches and Farms Scheme Bill on the floor of the House.
“Introducing this Bill is a step toward enhancing food security, generating employment, and equipping our Armed Forces with valuable agricultural skills.
“This scheme supports the non-kinetic approach to addressing Nigeria’s security challenges, fostering community resilience, and providing sustainable livelihoods.
“I call on my colleagues and stakeholders to support this solution-oriented strategy that strengthens both our defence and economic stability for a safer, more prosperous Nigeria”, he wrote on his Facebook page.
