-As Oba Raji declares the annual day opened
The Isiu Eweye Development Association (ISEDASS), has unveiled ankara fabrics and programmes of events for the 2024 Isiu Eweye Day, with the promise to stage a memorable and remarkable celebration.
The ankara and the celebratory activities were unveiled by the Eweye of Isiu, His Royal Majesty, Oba Olukayode David Raji, at his palace, at the weekend.
During the unveiling, 40 residents and groups that pre – ordered the ankara were picked through raffle draw to win the sum of N5000 each, while Oba Raji also declared the 2024 community day opened.
The royal father, who reiterated that his community was the first to start the annual community day over 40 years ago before others copied the idea, charged residents of lsiu to join hands with ISEDASS to achieve memorable celebration this year.
Oba Raji also stated that Isiu has been witnessing development since his emergence, and pledged that his leadership will continue to drive developments to the community.
Eweye listed the resuscitation of the annual community day, peace and harmony, 40 – bed hospital facilitated by Sen. Tokunbo Abiru, 40 lock – up shops market facilitated by Rep. Babajimi Benson, 2kilometer road construction facilitated also be Rep. Benson, upgrading of Ikorodu North LCDA Secretariat among many other developments under his reign as benefits of Obaship in Isiu.
In his opening remark, Chairman of ISEDASS, Otunba Folagbade Musa Banwo, thanked the royal father and entire residents of Isiu and others for their support so far.
“It is an honour to stand before you today as we officially declare the commencement of Isiu Eweye Day 2024 activities. On behalf of the Isiu Eweye Development Association (ISEDASS), I extend my deepest gratitude to every one of you for your unwavering support, dedication, and commitment to the success of our cherished community.
“Your steadfast encouragement empowers us, and together, we will make this year’s Eweye Day celebration one for the ages.
“Allow me to extend our profound appreciation to His Royal Majesty, Oba Olukayode David, the Eweye of Isiu. Kabiyesi, your leadership and vision have been a source of strength and pride for our people. You have consistently championed the progress of Isiu, fostering unity and harmony.
“It is through your inspiring guidance that we are able to gather here in such high spirits, ready to embark on this exciting journey toward celebrating our heritage”, he said.
ISEDASS Chairman, like the Eweye of Isiu, assured residents and guests that would be attending this year’s event that the community is committed to staging a memorable festival.
He also called for the support of sons and daughters of Isiu, for the success of the celebration.

Dr. Haruna Balogun (PhD.) , Coordinating Vice Chairman and Chairman Planning Committee, in his own remarks, said that this year’s edition would be the ccontinuation of the previous and an avenue to continue to achieve the lofty dreams of bringing developments to Isiu.
The Publicity Secretary and Chairman, Education Committee, Alhaji Taiwo Odumbo, speaking with THE IMPACT, said that adequate preparation has been made for the 2024 celebration which he also said would be a memorable one.
He called on individuals and groups to support the celebration and help in bringing developments to Isiu.
Alhaji Odumbo also enjoined residents of Isiu and friends of the community to get the ankara fabric which is the official fabric for the celebration, from designated points.
After the declaration of the commencement of the 2024 Isiu Day by the Eweye at the unveiling of ankara and programs of events, the football competition, which is part of the celebratory activities kicked – off on the same day.
Education competitions holds is scheduled to hold on Thursday 2ist , Wednesday 27th and Thursday 28th , November, 2024, while Woro/Rally comes up on Saturday, November 30th and Culture Day will be staged on Tuesday, November 3rd.
Thursday, December 5th, is the day allocated to the Market men and women, while the football competition final holds Satuday, December 7th.
Residents of Isiu and guests will be entertained with ram fight on Sunday, December 8, while Tuesday, December 10th is scheduled for the Free Health Day and Thursday, December 12th is for the Sanitation Day.
2024 Isiu Day grand finale holds on Saturday, December 14th, 2024.
