Aro Moshood Abiodun (AMA), member, Lagos State House of Assembly representing Ikorodu Constituency 2.
“This medium is also being used to seek an appointment with you to formally appreciate you from the bottom of our hearts.
“We equally appreciate the good gesture of our amiable Governor, His Excellency Mr Olusola Sanwo-Olu, for his long awaited approval for the construction of the twin-eighteen classroom blocks for our community.
“The initiative to start a school started early in 2014, by the then CDA leadership and members of the Community at large when a meeting was held to have a School to accommodate our children and those of the other eight surrounding villages. To this end, agreement was reached for their resources to be channelled into the construction of the Lajo Community Primary School.
“Up till date, we now have the Community Junior/Senior Secondary Schools through self -help which will now be accommodated by the Prototype buildings that is about to be constructed on an acre of land which is supposed to be our Baale’s palace but was donated for the common good of our community’s present and future generations.
“We equally appreciate the contributions of our Kabiyesi, Oba Semiu Orimadegun, the Emugorude 1, the Adeboruwa of Igbogbo Kingdom and his Council of Chiefs whose interest in our Community is not negotiable, and the numerous political leaders/office holders of the Community whose contributions is, hereby, being appreciated too”, he said.
The CDA Chairman, while stating that the community is looking forward to the timely construction of the school which he said would also serve the secondary school which was also established by the community, also called on the Ikorodu Constituency II representative and the Governor on the need to take over the payment of salaries for the teachers serving in the schools.
“We, hereby, look forward to the ground breaking event and eventual completion of the project to accommodate the two Community Schools. More so, the need to reduce the burden being carried now regarding the payment of Community Senior Secondary School Teachers, property rented and other expenses, because it’s the only Community School that is yet to be taken over by the Government, but by the time the Government fulfills his own side of the bargain with the approval of the construction of the buildings, life would be better for everyone and the interest of our founding fathers in the area of education would have been fulfilled.
“The journalists that have assisted in highlighting our concerns are also appreciated, including you as well. Your support and that of others towards the achievement of this noble cause will continually be appreciated and pls, keep up with your support for our community’s programmes going forward”, he said.
