His Imperial Majesty, Ooni Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, CFR, Ojaja II, the Ooni of Ife, has inaugurated a foundation for traditional rulers’ intervention on truancy prevention, school enrollment and engagement.
The inauguration took place at the Ooni’s palace, Enu – Owa, Ile Ife, on Wednesday, October 16.
Ooni had, in August, constituted the members of the foundation to design plans and programmes to combat the out-of-school menace in South-West Nigeria, ahead of his 50th birthday anniversary in October this year.
The foundation was inaugurated with the Eburu of Iba, Oba Adekunle Adeogun-Okunoye as its Director – General, and HRM Oba Semiudeen Orimadegun Kasali, Emugoriade I, Adeboruwa of Igbogbo Kingdom, as the Lagos State Director; King (DR) Williams Olusegun Ayeni (JP) as Director for Kogi State; HRM Oba Engr. Ademola Adebiyi Oyinbade, PhD, Oloba of Uso land, as Director, Ondo State, and HRM Oba ( Barr.) Rotn Jaiyeola Abimbola Agunbiade, Olule III, Alagbara of Agabra, as Director for Ogun State.
Others were HRM Doctor Abdulrasaq Adebayo Abioye, JP., GCOP, Ilufemiloye I, Olukotun of Ikotun Ile, as Director, Kwara State; HRM Oba (Barr.) Sunday Adewunmi, JP., Okinbaloye I, Onigogo of Igogo, Ekiti State, as the Director for Ekiti State; HRM Oba Sunday Oladapo Oyediran Lagbami, Osekun III, the Onipetu Ojeru, as Director for Oyo State and HRM Oba Bankole Ojutalayo, Larooka Wanikkin Obamurewa, as Director for Osun State.
