In continuation of her administration’s support for education, Hon. Motunrayo Gbadebo-Alogba, on Monday, October 14th, 2024, distributed educational materials and grass-cutting equipment to government primary schools in Ijede Local Council Development Area (LCDA) of Ikorodu Local Government, Lagos, Nigeria.
The initiative, which was part of the council bosss ‘Back to School Intervention’ program, was designed to support parents in providing essential educational resources for their children, and ensuring that financial constraints do not prevent any child from accessing primary education.
The program saw the distribution of branded exercise books and school uniforms to over two thousand pupils in the LCDA. Benefiting schools, included Anglican Nursery and Primary; Anwar-Ul-Islam Primary; Egbin Kingdom Primary; Methodist Nursery and Primary and Community Nursery and Primary Schools in Ijede LCDA.
During the presentations, the council boss emphasized the critical role of primary education in children’s development.
She reaffirmed her administration’s commitment to improving educational infrastructure and maintaining a clean and hygienic environment in schools.
Mrs Onaneye Janet Idowu, Head Teacher of Anglican Nursery and Primary School, applauded the council boss for her impactful contributions to improving the educational landscape in Ijede LCDA.
Many of the benefitting pupils also commended the Ijede LCDA Chairman, for the gesture every resumption year.
The initiative has also been praised by community leaders and stakeholders.
