Asiwaju Reuben Olorunfunmi Basorun has been described as a true democrat, remarkable individual with excellent records of public engagements and an outstanding elder statesman, by Hammed Olalekan Aroyewun (HOA), a follower of the chieftain of the Governance Advisory Council (GAC) and Chairmanship aspirant for the Igbogbo/Bayeku Local Council Development Area (LCDA).
Aroyewun gave the description today, in a statement to commemorate the sage’s 86th birthday celebration.

“As a staunch member of the Governance Advisory Council, Lagos State, your counsel to the state leadership and visionary ideas always inspire invaluable public actions. Your passion for service, coupled with your innate ability to foster unity and collaboration, have significantly transformed Ikorodu Division and Lagos State, paving the way for a brighter future for all.
“As an elder statesman, you have consistently deployed deep insights and has intelligently applied your erudition to helping to understand and resolve contentious contemporary socio-cultural, legal, geopolitical, and fiscal challenges that our nation confronts. Many of your ideas for averting imminent systemic crisis and turning around unpleasant situations cannot be over appreciated. No wonder you remain a resource person to successive administrations at local, state and national levels.
