The 2024 edition of the Eyibi festival will kick – off on Tuesday, October 15, 2024, with ‘Ituworo’ in Oke Eletu community in Ijede Local Council Development Area (LCDA) of Ikorodu Local Government Area of Ikorodu Division, Lagos State, Nigeria.
Eluku festival, which is a sub – festival of the Eyibi, comes up on Wednesday, October 16.
Thursday, October 17, will host Agemo, another sub festival which will feature masquerades with mat wrapped around them engaging in spectacular performance at the Oke Eletu night market.
The grand finale, which is a social gathering, comes up on Friday, October 18. Other traditional activities follows two days after.
Meanwhile, the Eletu of Oke Eletu, High Chief Adeniyi Omotayo Ajayi, has called on sons and daughters of Oke Eletu, residents and friends to support the community in organizing a successful festival.
While also inviting everybody to be part of this year’s festival, the traditional head of the community also warned residents and visitors who are not Eluku family or initiates, against coming out or partaking in the Eluku celebration.
