Senator Abiru Announces Commencement Of Apena Jimbo, Ibuowo, Ojediran Road Construction In Ikorodu

The Senator representing Lagos East Senatorial District, Senator Mukhail Adetokunbo Abiru, FCA, has announced that construction of Apena Jimbo, Ibuowo, Ojediran Roads in Ipakodo area of lkorodu West Local Council Development Area (LCDA), will commence soon.

Abiru, who graced the grand finale of the Ipakodo Day Celebration alongside other dignitaries, on Saturday, October 5, 2024, also unveiled his plan to rehabilitate/construct blocks of classroom in Ipakodo Grammar School.

The lawmaker, who has been widely commended for his exemplary leadership and performance in office, also at the event, disclosed to the admiration of royal fathers from Ikorodu Division, guests and residents in attendance, that the facilitated projects, including construction of roads and schools, will soon commence in Ipakodo, and other locations around the Senatorial District.

“Construction of the following roads and schools within Ipakodo, will commence very soon: Apena Jimbo Street, Ojediran Street, Ibuowo Street, rehabilitation/construction of classroom blocks at Ipakodo Primary School, and rehabilitation/construction of classroom blocks in Ipakodo Grammar School”, he said.

Speaking further, Abiru highlighted immense benefit of SAIL Innovation Lab, the first of its kind Innovation Lab, which is an endowment of SAIL Empowerment Foundation, an initiative of Senator Abiru and his wife, Mrs Feyisola Abiru, located at Ipakodo, Ikorodu.

According to him, the Innovation Lab has put Ipakodo, and by extension, Ikorodu, on the world’s map, stressing that many young people’s lives were being transformed through impactful programmes and opportunities the Lab offers to participants.

“The impact of this lab, where hundreds of young people have been trained and secured decent jobs, is unimaginable. The project has really transformed the socio-economic outlook of the host environment, and it will continue to improve the condition of our people, particularly youths”, Abiru said in his remarks.

Royal fathers in attendance include: HRM Oba Engr. Kabir Adewale Shotobi, the Ayangbure of Ikorodu and the Paramount Ruler of Ikorodu Division, the host monarch, HRM Oba (Engr.) Basiru Aremu Sotonwa, the Sekumade of Ipakodo Kingdom, HRM Oba (Barrister) Semiudeen Kasali, the Adeboruwa of Igbogbo Kingdom, HRM Oba Olukayode David Raji, the Eweye of Isiu, Aremo Adeniyi Ogunsanya, Sir Raheed Omokayode Shoderu, Emeritus Prof. Kunle Ade Wahaab, High Chief Adewunmi Ogunsanya, SAN, the Odofin of Ikorodu, who was the Chairman of the occasion, and Dr. (Otunba) Saheed Oladapo Ibikunle, amongst other dignitaries.
