The Ikorodu Division Human Resources Development Board (IDHRDB), under the auspices of the Ikorodu Division Resources Development Group (IDRDG), is set to host the 5th edition of the divisional education summit.
The summit comes up 11am on Thursday, October 10, 2024, at the Ikorodu Ultra-modern Town Hall, Ikorodu.
At this year’s edition of the summit, the IDHRDB will honor the duo of Emeritus Professor Kunle Ade Wahab, OFR, OON and Dame Olabisi Adunola Benson, co -founder of Ikorodu High School, Ikorodu, as Education Personalities in focus.
Academic honours will also be conferred on public school scholars, teachers and principals who have displayed outstanding performances.
In a statement by retired Lagos State Head of Service and Chairman of the Summit Planning Committee, Prince Adesegun Ogunlewe, he said that Prof. Biodun Ogunyemi of the Department of Sociological Education Studies, Lagos State University of Education (LASUED), Lagos, will deliver the lead paper on the theme of the summit: ‘Family Structure, Child Socialization and Children Holistic Development’.
“Two eminent education personalities namely, Emeritus Prof Chief Kunle Ade Wahab, a retired Professor of Building Technology & Estate Management from the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife and Dame Adunola Benson, founder, Ikorodu High School and Adunola Benson Private School, Ikorodu would also be honoured with special recognition awards for their individual contributions to the development of education within Ikorodu Division”, he said.
The event will be chaired by a retired and former Director, National Airspace Management Agency, Dr Ganiyu Agbaje, while the Lagos State Commissioner for Arts, Culture and Tourism, Mrs Toke Benson-Awoyinka, is the Co-Chairman.
The epoch-making event will play host to royal fathers in Ikorodu Division, other important dignitaries, students and stakeholders.
