A Chairmanship aspirant for the Igbogbo/Bayeku Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Pastor Abayomi Adelakun, (FCA, ACA, ACTI), has charged Nigerians to continue to think of ways to contribute to the growth and development of the county in their own little ways.
He also called for prayers for those in positions of authority and for the country, instead of uttering negative words at them.
Pastor Abayomi, a former Chairman of the Community Developmnet Committee (CDC), Igbogbo/Bayeku LCDA, gave the charges in an Independence Day statement today.
“In the past sixty four years, we have gone through ups and downs; including civil war, natural disasters, Boko Haram, Banditry, EBOLA, COVID-19, e.t.c.
“We have been under military and civilian administrations with different economic, fiscal and monetary policies with their attendant effects.
“Presently, there is a global economic meltdown which affects countries across all the continents in diverse ways. On May 29, 2023, President Bola Tinubu pronounced removal of fuel subsidy. It’s obvious that there are hardship due to high inflationary trend.
“As we observe the public holiday today to celebrate our Nation’s 64th independence anniversary, let us continue to think of the little way we can contribute to the growth of this nation, pray for our leaders in positions of authority and always pray for Nigeria, rather than making negative pronouncements to Nigeria. Let us always say, “God bless Nigeria”, he said.
