Aftermath the last Saturday election of new set of executive members for the Igbogbo Youth Coalition (IYC), the President – elect and other members of the executive of the umbrella body for all the youhs in Igbogbo, have expressed their appreciation to the youths and other stakeholders, for their support and trusts.
Dr Adeleke Dankuwo, the newly elected President and other elected officers, will be inaugurated soon, to take over from the outgoing council led by Comrade Kazeem Ogunmuyiwa.
After the election was held at the Adeboruwa palace, Dr. Adeleke Dankuwo polled a total of 39 votes which is the total number of voters registered for the election.
The Vice Presidential candidates I and 2, MRS. FEYIPITAN IDRIS and MR. ABIODUN AWOSANYA polled 37 votes each.
Comrade TOYYIB OKE, who was elected as the GENERAL SECRETARY, also scored 39 votes, while MS. ABDUL T. DAMILOLA, the Assistant General Secretary, scored 32 votes and MR OGUNBANWO DAMILOALA scored 38 votes.
The Financial Secretary-elect, MR. ABDULRASAQ ABDULATEEF polled 36 votes, MR. ALIU MUBARAK, the P.R.O elect, got 38 votes, AMUSA ADEBAYO IDRIS received 38 votes and MRS. OGUNLEWE BUSAYO ODIVBRI polled 38 votes.
Others are the Chief Whip elect, MR. KUTI DAMILARE OPEYEMI (38 votes), Legal Adviser elect, BARR. AMOKUNMOSA RHODA (37 votes) and the WELFARE elect, MS. FANIYI OMOLARA (O. 37 votes).
Speaking with THE IMPACT after the election, President elect, Dr Adeleke Dankuwo, expressing his appreciations, assured the stakeholders that his team is bringing changes to the operations of the IYC.
“Thank you so much sir, I am really happy to be elected as president of lgbogbo youth coalition, and I believe what we are bringing to the table is going to change dynamics of operations of the youth coalition.
“I also want to appreciate those behind us, that supported us, from the pre-election stage throughout the elections period.
“I want to thank the elders, they have been standing behind me, and they have been very supportive, so I want to thank them very well “, he said.
He sought and called for further support for his administration to be able to deliver on its promises to Igbogbo youths and the community in general.
“I also plead or beg them to continue to support us, so that we can all achieve greater things for our coalition together. I believe in collaborative efforts and I pray that we all make ourselves available to drive our own agenda. So, thank you so much, and I wish everybody good luck”, Dr. Dankuwo said.
Comrade Toyyib Oke, the General Secretary elect who was still very surprised at his call by the stakeholders to be part of the leadership of the IYC and the support that he received, said that his emergence is another call to serve.
“I am seeing it as a surprise sir. There are many resourceful youths in the kingdom who are qualified to serve in that office.
“However, it is what The Almighty Allah wants to happen. Therefore, I see my emergence as the will of the Lord, and a call to serve His people”, he said.
Mr Amusa Idris, the Project Coordinator elect, also thanking the IYC members and stakeholders for their support, said that the newly elected executive council is committed to implementing its agenda aimed at promoting the aims and objectives of the coalition.
“My heartfelt appreciation goes to all members of IYC and stakeholders of this greatest coalition.
“We remain dauntless until we achieve our aims and objectives for IYC to be a reputable organisation to reckon with.
“Thank you all and I look forward to feeling your unflinching support to take this prestigious organisation to greater heights”, he said.
In his own reaction, Mr Alli Mubarak, who was re – elected as PRO, also in his own reaction, was equally filed with appreciation and pledged to propagate IYC positively.
“I am overwhelmed with gratitude and humility as I acknowledged the trust and confidence you have reposed in me again by electing me as your Public Relations Officer (PRO). Your support and belief in my abilities are a tremendous source of inspiration and motivation.
“I extend my sincerest appreciation to every member who participated in the election process, and to those who worked tirelessly behind the scenes to ensure its success. Your dedication to our coalition’s growth and progress, is truly commendable.
“As your PRO, I pledge to: amplify our coalition’s voice and interests through different media experts and bloggers; foster effective communication and collaboration among members and stakeholders, as well as promote unity, inclusivity, and collective progress.
“Thank you for this rare opportunity to serve as two – term P.R.O., together, we can build a brighter rewarding future for our youths”, he said.
