Apex GAC Leader, Prince Tajudeen Olusi Visits SAIL Innovation Lab, Commends Senator Abiru’s Visionary Leadership

The apex leader of the Governance Advisory Council, GAC, Prince Tajudeen Oluyole Olusi, on Wednesday, paid a visit to the iconic SAIL Innovation Lab in Ikorodu area of Lagos State, where over 8,400 constituents, majorly youths, have learnt different life-transforming sought-after skills in digital, tech and innovation,  such as Tech Talent Development, Data Science and Teachers’ Fellowship, among others.

The respected elder statesman and national political figure, who was elated by the magnificence of the Innovation Lab that has trained and provided decent jobs for hundreds of youths in Lagos East Senatorial District, commended the visionary leadership of the co-founders, Senator Mukhail Adetokunbo Abiru, and his wife, Mrs Feyisola Abiru.

Prince Olusi, who toured the facility in the company of political leaders in the Ikorodu division, who are also members of the GAC, called for more collaborative efforts in unlocking young people’s potentials through digital skills and innovation.

The prominent political leader further thanked President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, for encouraging Senator Abiru to join politics to deploy his wealth of experience in the corporate sector for the service of the people. He stressed that the Senator has justified the trust reposed in him with the transformation he has brought into public service. 

“It is a very good example that this property is being used for the education and developmental training of our children who are the future leaders of our country, who will contribute immensely to the economic development of Nigeria”, Prince Olusi said.

In his remarks, Senator Abiru said: “Beyond the facility and faculty we have created here, we always like to bring accomplished people not only to showcase what we are doing here, but also speak with the participants so that they can inspire them. We are committed to the upskilling of our young people because of their resourcefulness”.

The Lagos State Honourable Commissioner for Commerce, Cooperatives, Trade and Investment, Mrs. Folashade Ambrose-Medebem, was also part of the dignitaries who toured the facility, and she described SAIL Innovation Lab as remarkable, great, and innovative. 

Managing Director, Bank of Industry, Dr. Olasupo Olusi, referencing the global development trend, disclosed that digital and allied skills have the potential of accelerating the nation’s economic growth and unlock untapped opportunities for many young people.  

“Several studies have shown that one of the best ways to grow the economy faster is to invest in the digital economy, and that has several components including digital skills, infrastructure. This wonderful edifice is an asset to the nation”, the BOI boss said.

Senator Abiru appreciated Prince Olusi, alongside notable leaders in Ikorodu division – APC apex leader in Ikorodu division, His Excellency, Prince Abiodun Ogunleye, Asiwaju Reuben Olorunfunmi Basorun, Senator Adeseye Ogunlewe, all GAC members and other eminent personalities, for coming to the Innovation Lab, and the motivation they offered to the beneficiaries.

Also present at the tour were: Mr. Deji Abisola, (Chief Impact Consultant, SAIL) , Dr. (Otunba) Saheed Ibikunle, among others.
