Kunle Adelabu
The Senator, representing the Lagos East Senatorial District, Sen. Mikhail Tokunbo Abiru, FCA, has been confirmed as the recipient of the Democracy Heroes Award Africa 2024 in the Outstanding Policy Maker of the Year 2024.
Sen. Abiru, who is the Chairman, Southern Senator’s Forum, won 40% of the votes cast to emerged as the winner ahead of his closest rival, Hon. James Faleke who garnered 36% of the total votes.
Other nominees are: Hon. Mukta Aliu Betara, Senator Sanni Musa, Senator Henry Serikae Dickson and Hon. Olaide Akinremi.
The presentation of the award is slated for the Congress Hall, Transcorp Hilton, Abuja, on October 2, 2024. The event is themed, “Stronger Together: Celebrating Democracy’s Diversity”.
