Prof. Olumuyiwa Odusanya, Vice Chancellor, Lagos State University of Science and Technology, has reiterated the institution’s opposition to sexual harassment in any form, and called for collective action against it.
The university don, who about a week ago, issue a stern warning to staff and students against indulging in such act, made the call in a statement on Monday.
“As we conclude this year’s Sexual Harassment and Violence Awareness Day, I want to express my gratitude to everyone who participated and engaged in the campaign. Your enthusiasm and commitment to creating a safer and more respectful community are truly commendable.
“However, I want to emphasize that today’s conclusion marks not the end, but a continuation of our efforts to combat sexual harassment and violence. This awareness campaign is an ongoing process, and we must sustain the momentum.
“Let us continue to educate ourselves, support survivors, and hold perpetrators accountable.
“Let us create an environment where everyone feels empowered to speak out against injustice and seek help when needed.
“As we move forward, remember that: Silence is not an option, always speak out!
“Thank you again for your participation and commitment”, he said.
