The umbrella body of youths in Igbogbo, the Igbogbo Youth Coalition (IYC), has commended the Ikorodu Division Peace Initiative Limited (IDPIL), for its educational support initiative.
The group has committed a whooping sum of N70million in scholarship and bursary for Indigenes and residents of Ikorodu Division in public higher institutions across Nigeria, in the last three years.
So far, a total of 650 undergraduates have benefitted.
In a statement on Saturday, signed by Comrade Kazeem Ogunmuyiwa, President, IYC, the youth group expressed its appreciation for the IDPIL’s laudable intervention.
The group also commended IDPIL for securing the Ikorodu Division and drastically checkmated cultism and other criminal activities that were previously disturbing the social and economic lives of the division.
“The entire members of Igbogbo Youth Coalition express our profound appreciation to the founders, funders, leadership and management of Ikorodu Division Peace Initiative Limited (IDPIL), for the scholarships and bursary awards doled out to students of Ikorodu Division.
“This extraordinary initiative is precious, and we are enthused to salute the gesture.
“We equally acknowledge the inestimable enduring benefits of the security fund initiative of IDPIL to Ikorodu Division in particular and to Lagos State in general. Long live, IDPIL!”, Comrade Ogunmuyiwa said.
IYC also acknowledged the impacts and contributions other individuals, especially the Senator representing the Lagos East Senatorial District, Sen. Tokunbo Abiru and the Ikorodu Federal Constituency representative, Rep. Babajimi Benson, through their working groups, for their efforts in improving the Ikorodu Division socially and economically.
“We also use this opportunity to acknowledge all well-meaning individuals and groups that are doing their selfless best to improve our society meaningfully. In particular, we recognise the impacts of the iCare and SAIL initiatives which continue to be special blessings to Ikorodu Division, due to their unprecedented accomplishments.
