The death of the Iyaloja General Igbogbo/Bayeku LCDA and Kaniyi Owode Market in lgbogbo, Chief (Mrs) Rachel Obayomi, is dead. She was 92 years.
The market leader, who was also the Iya Ijo of Methodist Church of Nigeria, Igbogbo, died today.
Mourning the passage of the Iyaloja, the Chairman of Igbogbo/Bayeku Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Builder Sesan Daini, described the late Chief Obayomi as a pillar in the community.
“I am deeply saddened to hear about the passing of Chief Mrs Rachel Obayomi, our beloved Iyaloja Kaniyi Owode Market in Igbogbo Kingdom, and Iya Ijọ of Methodist Church Nigeria, Igbogbo. Her unwavering faith, dedication, and leadership were a source of inspiration to all who knew her.
“She was a pillar of strength in our community, guiding many with her wisdom and grace.
“Her absence will be deeply felt, not only within the church but throughout Igbogbo where she touched so many lives with her kindness and selflessness.
“On behalf of Igbogbo/Baiyeku LCDA, I extend my heartfelt condolences to her family and the Methodist Church community.
“May God grant you all the strength and comfort to bear this profound loss. Let us honor her memory by continuing to uphold the values and principles she lived for.
” We stand with you in prayer and in spirit during this difficult time”, the Council Chairman said.
Meanwhile, the Baba Oloja General of Igbogbo/Bayeku LCDA and former Chairman of the council, Prince Jimoh Ogunmuyiwa, has declared suspension of trading activities at Kaniyi Owode and the Adeboruwa market, Igbogbo, on Wednesday.
He said that the restriction is in honour of the late Chief Obayomi, who was a market leader.
