Three – term member of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Hon. Kazeem Raheem Adewale, has described the death of late Alhaji Kolawole Saheed Akinsanya, as a great loss not only to Ibeju – Lekki and Ikorodu Local Government Areas, but also to Lagos State and Nigeria as a whole.

Late Akinsanya, a retired senior police officer, community developer, grassroots sports administrator, safety ambassador and an author, died on Sunday, August 18, 2024, in Ikorodu, after a brief illness.

Hon. Raheem, who represented Ibeju Lekki Consistency II from 2011-2023, spoke with THE IMPACT at the special prayer organized by the children of the late community and human developer, at his house in Ikorodu, where he was buried on Friday.

The former state lawmaker stated that late Akinsanya’s generosity and care for others, his community and humanity as a whole, knows no bound.

“Well, if I started describing Alhaji, it will get to a stage that it will be an over statement. In small words, Alhaji was someone that everybody loved and he loved everyone – his immediate family, his community, and the entire local government of Ibeju Lekki.

“Alhaji was a lovely person. He was a philanthropist and very generous person. He was a very caring father to everyone. Alhaji was a person that cared about his people, cared about his community. He was a person that when there is any dispute, he knew how to handle issues, which underlined his role as a former police officer. He knew how to handle any issue that can bring conflict to the community.

“We can’t say it all about him, rather let’s continue to pray for him that Almighty Allah should grants him eternal rest. Alhaji was a very generous person and a nice man”, he said.

While stating how he will miss late Ahaji Akinsanya, Hon. Raheem emphasized that the entire state and the country will also miss his outstanding, selfless and committed service to humanity.

“For me, I will miss Alhaji in many areas. He was my confidante, adviser, father, uncle, and whenever I needed him to offer assistance, Alhaji never disappointed. If I have to be in Abuja tomorrow and I call Alhaji late night today that I want him to join me on the journey, I bet you, him and his wife, Alhaja Akinsanya, will be at the airport by 3am waiting for me. That is Alhaji for you.

“He was the only person that I can call anytime when I have issues pertaining to the local government. I can tell you categorically that I facilitated his appointment as the Special Adviser to the Council Chairman on Security, because I knew his capability. I know that he has the ability to handle such position and since he assumed the office, he never disappointed the Council Chairman.

“I thank God for his life and for his wife, children and the entire family that he left behind, especially the Odunlami family and entire Magbon Alade. Lagos State and Nigeria as a whole will miss Alhaji Akinsanya, because he served diligently as a police officer, customary judge and the local government as the Chief Security Officer.

“He was a community developer and our community chief. In all ramifications, we are going to miss Alhaji Akinsanya”, Hon. Raheem said.
