Members of the Governance Advisory Council (GAC), the highest decision making organ of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lagos State, have commended Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, on how he managed the affairs of the state during the recent protest across the country.

The protest, which was partially successful in some parts of the state, was tagged #EndBadGovernance and #HungerProtest, was called off after the nationwide broadcast by President Bola Tinubu last Sunday, appealing to the youths to embrace dialogue.

Sanwo – Olu announced the GAC’s commendations at meeting today on his social media handles.

“Today, I met with the Governance Advisory Council (GAC), and we engaged in discussions regarding the management of security and other critical affairs of the State, during the recent protests.

” I was pleased to receive commendations for our proactive approach and level of engagement with stakeholders across the State.

“The GAC acknowledged the effectiveness of the people-centric policies we have implemented, such as the ‘Ounje Eko’ Scheme which aims to enhance food security for our citizens, and the transport palliative measures designed to alleviate the burden of transportation costs.

“They also recognized significant developmental initiatives currently underway across the State; key projects such as the Blue and Red Line Transit Projects, as well as the construction of Massey Children’s Hospital which will provide essential healthcare services to our youngest residents”, he said.

The governor said that the GAC’s commendations will serve as an added impetus to strategise further in the development of the state.

“This meeting not only reinforces our commitment to transparency and accountability, but also serves as a vital opportunity to reflect on our achievements and strategize further improvements for the welfare of our citizens”, he said.
