-Says additional release of funds guarantees timely completion
The umbrella body of youths in Igbogbo, the Igbogbo Youth Coalition (IYC), has commended the representative of Ikorodu Federal Constituency, Rep. Babajimi Benson, over the rate of work on the Igbogbo/Offin/Oreta road which he facilitated its reconstruction.
IYC also expressed its appreciation for the efforts of the three – term lawmaker in ensuring that the project gets additional funds to the tune of #29,000,000,000, approved this week by the Federal Executive Council (FEC).
The youth group, in a statement signed by its President, Comrade Kazeem Ogumuyiwa, said that the additional release of funds will bring about timely completion of the project which, according to the body, has brought great succor to thousands of residents of Offin, Oreta and adjoining communities.
The statement by IYC, titled, ‘The Absolute Appreciation’, reads:
“Whilst searching for the appropriate adjectives to affirm the outstandingly distinguished representation of our amazon leader in Nigeria politics, and brother in struggle for the actualisation of overall development of Ikorodu division, it is impressive to affirm the tremendous impacts of functioning road network to overall well-being of the people.
“Thirty years ago was the best period Offin/Oreta road in Igbogbo/Baiyeku LCDA witnessed meaningful touch from the government regardless of the level of government. Few months ago, we, the entire residents of Igbogbo Kingdom, received with great joy the determination and readiness of the Federal Government through Hon. Babajimi Benson, to reconstruct the damaged roads to a standard form, thereby, boosting economic activities around the axis, leading to an enhanced living environment.
“lt is definitely unarguable that people of the axis have been experiencing relief since the contractor resumed work on the road; the hope of timely completion still stands unshakeable in our minds.
“Behold, this hope was fired beyond the space as a result of the news bearing the additional fund of about twenty-nine billion naira (#29,000,000,000) recently approved by President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, to ensure the speedy completion of the construction exercise on the roads.
“The hardly debatable fact is that, we cannot wait for the massive infrastructural development Ikorodu division will experience under your sterling leadership in few years to come sir, you are ever ready to bring succour to your people”, the IYC President said.
While acknowledging the effects of the renewed hope agenda of President Tinubu administration through the Ikorodu federal representative and the Chairman, House Committee on Defense, IYC also appreciated the contractor handling the road project, JRB Contractor, for the professional way the construction work is being handled.
“Indeed, the renewed hope pledge of our working president, is a reality.
“The entire members of Igbogbo Youth Coalition use this medium to extend our forthright appreciation to the man of his people, the real definition of representation, the golden light of Ikorodu division, the outstanding example of a leader-servant, the magnificent political gladiator of the Federal Republic, the Jagaban of Ikorodu division – we may not have the best way to really appreciate the exemplary leadership of Hon. Babajimi Adegoke Benson, but we must state clearly that you are the real hope of development of Ikorodu division, and as such, we overwhelmingly pray for your success in all facets of human endeavors, and victory in all fronts.
“We equally appreciate all stakeholders that are ever ready to support your brilliant contributions to the society.
“It is important to acknowledge the professional approach of the contractor, JRB Construction Limited, in the delivery of the construction exercise.
